“Hear that, daddy? He’s a teacup.”
“Oh yes,” I chuckle. “I can definitely see that.” I couldn’t contain my laughter any longer, and Kira smacks my arm. “Ouch, violent much?” I pinch her side, and she squeaks, setting the dog off to join in on the yapping action.
“Okay, okay, I believe you are the fiercest dog of them all, Flounder,” I hold up my hands, and the little fur ball shuts up as if he understood my every word and felt satisfied with my answer. “Welcome to the family, teacup. And I am assuming you bought these awesome matching sets today?”
“Yep,” Vee nods happily.
“I got one, too,” Sophie calls out from somewhere in the house.
“And where is mine? I feel very left out right now,” I gasp in mock offense, but as soon as I say that, Vee’s eyes light up with glee, and I know I will regret this.
“We got you one, too, daddy.”
“Um…” I roll my lips. “Same as yours?” I eye them both, watching Kira chewing her cheek.
“Yep, but we had to ask for the largest size they had because we couldn’t find any in the boy’s section. Mommy, where is it? I want dad to put it on so we can all match.” Victoria is jumping up and down with that hamster dog in her hands.
“It’s women’s sizing, right?” I ask Kira, and I see her fighting that giggle.
“You never know. It might fit you like a glove,” she says and hands me the bag from the couch.
That it does. It’s not just a glove; it’s my second skin, and all three of the girls, along with Flounder, set off in a fit of laughter, clutching their stomachs as I step out of the room. “What? You all don’t like my new look?” I point to the flared-out endings of the pants, stopping a few inches above my ankles, the ass that’soutlined to perfection in velour, and my arms ripping the zip-up jacket.
“Oh, I do.” Kira wiggles her eyebrows up and down as Sophie laughs more and says, “I can’t look at you. There isn’t enough bleach in this house for my eyes.”
“Daddy, you look the best,” Victoria laughs but runs up to me, and I lift her up, twirling around with her.
“Now, that’s my girl,” I kiss her cheek.
We spend the best evening all together. Laughing and eating, playing games, and taking silly pictures in our matching velour sets that most definitely became my new phone wallpaper. All too soon, the giggles and laughs die down as we put our daughter to sleep with Flounder set up comfortably in her room and a thousand pee pads around. Afterward, she insists both of us lay on either side of her and read a book, each and all felt right in the world.
And there is definitely no laughing when we step into our room. No giggles, only need, love, longing, lust, and desire.
“White, huh?” I raise an eyebrow as my hands slip over Kira’s waist, and she bites her lower lip, giving me those “fuck me eyes.”
“Should I go back to black?”
“For the record, I love you in anything and everything. But, baby, you in white, in my favorite color, is doing something to me.” I kiss her lips, pressing our bodies together. “You got her a dog,” I say, unzipping her hoodie slowly.
“Yeah, she’s been wanting one, and today felt like a good day for it,” Kira covers my hands with hers, halting my movements to take every piece of clothing off her body. “Vas,” she says in a serious tone, and I look into those green eyes.
“What? What happened today?”
“Viola showed up at Victoria’s school.”
My hands drop all together. “What did you just say?”
“Yeah, she was there, pretending to be Vee’s mom and threatening me.”
I raise one eyebrow because how stupid you have to be to threaten Kira. “She threatened you?” I ask in disbelief, and when I see that wicked grin tug on her lips, I know Viola got her ass handed to her. I only wish I was there to help with it and watch it at the same time. I bet that was a good show.
“Aha, the bitch thought she could come in, take my man and my daughter away and leave unscratched.”
“Sounds like she is completely insane. I’m afraid to ask how much blood was spilled?”
“Let’s just say she won’t be making any more appearances again.” Kira grows smug. “She may have had a few issues come up with the law.”
“Did she now?”
