Page 5 of Claiming His Girl

Damn, my girl is so fucking cute.

I can already tell I will never be able to say no to her.

“Fine,” I sigh. “You can come here and do the therapy.”

“Do you want to do something today or…” She trails off and looks around the cabin.

Although the place is pretty clean by bachelor standards, I would need to move a few things around for our session.

“How about we start next week? That will give me some time to move things around.”

“Alright, then, that’s great! I will see you in a couple of days.” She grabs her purse off of the couch and heads to the door.

After she leaves, I stare out the window until the lights from her little pink bug disappear into the distance. Then I sigh and shake my head.

A part of me still can’t believe she convinced me to let her come up here. But I can’t help it. There’s something about her that draws me in. Something I can’t put my finger on since it’s something I can only feel, not see.

Another strange thought hits me.

I wanted her to stay.

During the entire time she was in the cabin, a part of me wanted her to stay. I wanted us to talk, for me to soak up the way she made me feel inside.

Fuck.

Being around Molly is going to be more challenging than I imagined.

I told her I’m looking forward to our first appointment, and I meant it. I don’t know how it’s going to work out between us, but for whatever reason, I’m looking forward to it.

Chapter Three

MOLLY

Cold air bitesat my cheeks as Christmas carols echo from the portable speaker attached to Chase's phone.

Today is our last therapy session of the year, and instead of the usual routine, I convinced Chase to decorate the outside of his cabin for Christmas.

It actually looks pretty festive.

A wreath hangs on the front door while twinkling lights wrap around the porch railing. Chase is standing on a short stepladder, putting the last few touches on the lights around the window. Lola, meanwhile, is stretched out on the frosty grass, her gaze tracking his every movement.

"How does it look?" Chase grunts out as he glances over his shoulder.

I step back to survey our handiwork. "Great, now a bit more to the left. Wait, sorry. I meantmyleft.”

He chuckles. "Your other left. Got it."

"Perfect!" I say as I clap my hands together. "Now I just need to fix the decorations by the mailbox. That reindeer looks like it's had one too many eggnogs.”

"Sorry, sweetheart. Not gonna happen."

I frown. "Why not? It will just take a second."

"Because it's cold out here."

Chase descends the ladder with an elegance that belies his injuries, his movements more fluid than when we first began his therapy sessions. Then he prowls across the front porch towards me until his nose is almost touching mine.

"Your face is bright pink, baby," he says. He shrugs off his bulky Carhartt jacket and drapes it over my shoulders. "You can go fix the reindeer if you really want. But then I'm taking you inside so I can warm you up."
