“Why wouldn’t he want anyone to know that he can communicate?” I ask surprised.

“It’s a long story and one that is for him to tell and not me,” Trek says, “Hope, I want you to keep this between us for now, I don’t want anyone to know that Beast can communicate with me as it is dangerous for him.”

“What do you mean?” he is not making sense.

“Let’s just say that he will be in danger if the wrong people find out that he can communicate with me.” I nod, still surprised tofind out that Beast can communicate and isn’t wild to his core. I frown when I see Brok and Doil walking towards us.

“Didn’t the others go out today?” I ask as they come to sit at the table behind me.

“No, they will be here today to help prepare anything that might be needed for Dream and Drez to travel,” Trek explains as he nods to the others.

“Do my sisters know about this plan?” I ask with a frown, wondering what they think.

“They will by now,” Trek states, “If not they will soon.” I stand pushing my chair back so that I can go and help Dream as I am sure she will be preparing everything to paint her room.

“I will go and help Dream,” I say as I see Trek’s eyebrow rise in question.

“Okay, I will wait for Brok and Doil to eat and then we will join you.” I glance back to smile at the two men before making my way towards where the Dragon’s have lodged all of us. I find Dream in her room, the door wide open when I approach.

“Dream,” she is on her knees, her bottom up in the air as she looks under her bed. “What are you doing?” she turns her head to look at me, a grin lighting her pixie face.

“Don’t worry, I haven’t gone mad yet,” she quips.

“What were you doing, have you lost something?”

“I got a box of coloured chalk from one of the children the other day, but I can’t find it now.” She says with a shrug.

“It wasn’t there,” Rea says as she walks into the room, “hi Hope, have they told you?”

“Yes,” I reply, “what wasn’t there?”

“I sent Rea and Vain to look for the chalk,” Dream says as she sits back crossing her legs and looking up at the two of us. “How am I supposed to draw without the chalk, it was difficult enough finding that box here.”

“You didn’t need to paint when we went to the Human Realm the first time remember.” I believe that the paintings are just a way of Dream focusing and not her way of opening a portal. I trust that if she wants, she can open the portal without having to paint.

“But I don’t know how I did that,” Dream confesses, “we were being attacked, and I just wanted us to get out of there to safety.”

“Oh, I didn’t know that” Rea says, “If you did it before you can do it again, we will help you.”

“What if I take us somewhere different?” I can see the uncertainty in her eyes, the fear of not being able to do it.

“You can do it Dream,” I glance back to see Vain standing in the doorway, “we will help you focus; you just need to open the portal and make it back home to get us help.”

“I don’t even know where to begin,” she whispers.

“How do you walk through your paintings?” I ask, hoping to help her understand how she manifests the portals.

“I imagine the room as it is in the painting, then I send my energy into the painting compelling it to open for me.” I see her frown as she explains, I assume that explaining the steps she takes is helping her understand how to travel through the realms without having to create her paintings. “I will try follow the steps without actually looking at the painting and just visualizing it in my mind.”

She starts to close her eyes, “wait!” I shout, startling her and myself as I didn’t expect to shout so loud. “Umm, aren’t you supposed to go with Drez?”

Her cheeks flush as she realizes that she forgot about her mate in her hurry to try manifesting the portal without the painting. “Yesss” she gasps, “maybe I should wait.”

“I think that would be a good idea, I don’t think he would appreciate coming here to find that you left without him,” Vain teases.

“Don’t tell him,” Dream whispers.

“Don’t tell him what?” Zain asks as he steps inside the room, the room seems to shrink with his presence. All the guards are brawny, but Zain has wide shoulders that nearly touch the sides of the doors when he walks through. His Gargoyle and Elven ancestry must give him the hight and width.
