Chapter nine

Roger

Iwokeuptothe constant ringing of my phone beside me. I groaned as I grabbed the little thing. I was angry that its loud noise interrupted my sleep.

I stared at Mandy to ensure it hadn’t woken her up. I was glad to see she was still sleeping peacefully.

The ringing stopped before I could see who was calling, and it started again. Hissing under my breath, I grabbed the phone and stared at the caller ID. It’s Stefan. He’s the one that’s been calling me repeatedly. I knew exactly what he wanted to talk about. I wasn’t looking forward to it.

“Yes, Stefan,” I said.

“We need to talk, Roger,” Stefan replied.

I groaned, “It’s late. Can’t it wait?”

“It’s never too late for you, Roger. Besides, it’s just past eight,” Stefan replied.

“Fine, where are we meeting?” I asked.

“Eleven Madison Park, that’s your favorite place, right?” Stefan answered.

I nodded, realizing he couldn’t see me, “I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”

I hung up and looked at Mandy, who was sleeping peacefully. I kissed her forehead as the memory of our lovemaking resurfaced.

I’d said three words to her during our passionate lovemaking. I sincerely hope she didn’t hear me. I don’t know what came over me tonight, but the energy was charged with romance. It started when we watched the sunset together. She was so tempting, with her pouty lips, that I kissed her.

I’d expected her to slap me or push me away. I was surprised that she didn’t do either of those things. Instead, she kissed me back with intense passion and initiated sex.

I grinned as I leaned in to kiss her again. Her perky boobs rose and fell on her chest as she breathed in her sleep. She was pure perfection, and the attraction was undeniable even while asleep. I covered her with a blanket and dressed to leave.

I laughed at the memory and wondered what kind of power my little vixen possessed.

I’d left the Penthouse and instructed security to let her know I’d return shortly after my errand if she came downstairs.

I drove my Porsche and headed towards Eleven Madison Park to meet Stefan. I knew this wasn’t just a ‘meeting with friends.’ Stefan had one thing and one thing only on his mind. What was I doing with his sister?

I stopped in front of the building. I handed my keys to the valet, taking time to appreciate the restaurant’s structure. That’s one of the reasons I loved coming here. The entrance of Eleven Madison Park was marked by a large glass door framed by polished stainless steel.

I took my time going inside, as I didn’t want to deal with Stefan giving me the third degree. We’re all adults, and I am hopeful it turns out okay.

I saw Stefan sitting at table three. He smiled and knew how much I enjoyed the restaurant’s attention to detail, from the decor to the food. He waved as I headed towards him.

“You took your time,” he said, almost scoldingly.

I laughed a little. “I love the restaurant’s elegance and have an eye for detail. I love to take it in every time I am here. My critical eye for detail is why I have succeeded in athletic wear. Arguably, it’s one of the most difficult businesses to break into and survive. I’ve made it a smashing success. That’s also why I’m a billionaire.”

Stefan laughed, “Now, you’re just bragging.”

We both had a good laugh just as a waiter joined us at our table.

“What would you like to order, Sir?” he asked.

I’d participated in quite a rigorous activity earlier. I was hungry but looked at Stefan to ensure we were on the same page. He nodded.

“What’s the special today?” I asked.

He handed us both menus. I looked it over, trying to choose from the many specials available. They all sounded so good. Finally, I settled on one.
