“What are you doing here?” he asked in a low tone.
“I came to find you. This place is so beautiful.”
Roger smiled briefly, “Yeah, that’s why I bought the land and built the company close to this place. I didn’t want to take a chance that someone would buy it to build on the land. It would lose its magic.”
As Roger talked, I started to feel so guilty. I had only been around him for a few months, but it was easy to see he wasn’t entirely a jerk.
“I’m so sorry, Roger, for what I said to you at the hospital. I should’ve never said such a terrible thing. I was judging you without knowing who you are.”
“It’s over and done with. But it’s hard to hear you had such a wrong impression of me. You wanted to keep my child from me. I can’t explain how devastating it is to hear.”
I shook my head, “I didn’t know how you’d react. I based it on one situation. That was wrong of me. I’m so sorry, and it was completely unfair. I should’ve never kept things from you. Especially that you’re the father of my baby.”
“I don’t understand why you had to be so secretive,” he said.
I tried to touch him, but he quickly stood up, pulling his hands out of my reach.
“Roger,” I called, trying to hide the hurt in my voice.
“I get that I’ve not made things easy since you returned to New York. That doesn’t give you the right to keep my child from me. Besides, I love you. I’ve loved you for a while. The Jessica situation had me messed up. So, well, yeah, it took time for me to open up.”
I couldn’t hear anything he said except his love for me. I could only focus on the three words he confessed. He Loved Me… and he’s loved me for some time…
He…loves… me…Wow!!! I know I am going to bust with happiness.
I walked up to him and slammed my lips on his, stopping him mid-sentence. He seemed shocked, so I pulled away, feeling a bit embarrassed. “You just said you loved me,” I pointed out.
“I love you, but I’m in the dark about your feelings for me. How exactly do you feel about me? You’ve made it very clear that I’m an asshole and a certified jerk. To you, I’ve become just some terrible, irresponsible…”
I cut him off before he could finish. “I love you too. And initially, yes, I thought you were a class-A- asshole. So much has changed. I’ve learned who you are, the real you. I didn’t mean to hurt or consider what you would want.”
“I love you,” he murmured as our forehead rested on each other.
Under the glow of the moonlight, we found ourselves in a moment when time seemed to stand still. His arms wrapped around me, and a surge of electricity coursed through my veins, igniting a fire of intensity I wasn’t prepared.
His touch was tender yet filled with an undeniable desire. An invisible force drew our lips together, leading to an intense embrace. The world seemed to fade away. I felt fierce emotions bring us together, desire all-consuming.
I could taste the sweetness of his lips, each gentle caress sending a wave of warmth through me. Our breaths matched the beating of our hearts while the air was filled with the scent of his intoxicating cologne.
As our kiss deepened, my desire to have him intensified. He stirred up so much sexual tension with just his kiss. My need for him grew all-consuming. I was so wet, and he hadn’t even touched me.
Desire took over as we stripped each other of our clothing, no longer denying what we needed.
Roger pulled back and stared at me. “We shouldn’t. It hasn’t been very long since you fell.”
His caring voice was so genuine. He looked so cute, one of the reasons I’d fallen in love with him.
“I’m fine. I was discharged with a clean bill of health. There are no restrictions, except for including some exercise. Oh, and no more falling or passing out in the cold,” I said jokingly.
“What about the baby?”
“The baby is doing great,” I answered.
He kissed me gently and whispered in my ears. “I’ll be gentle.”
I giggled, “I just want you. I need you, Roger. I love it when you’re gentle, and we can see where that takes us.”
He placed feather-like kisses on my ears and my neck, making me giggle. But then desire took over. He moved to my breasts, taking time to lick and suck, giving dedicated time to each one.
