“Mandy belongs to no one, least of all you. I’ll make sure you rot in jail where you belong.” I threatened.

“Not if I kill you first,” Kade snarled as he struggled with me.

The police rushed over, separating us, and had Kade face down on the ground. I began to bleed heavily as Kade was arrested. One of the officers helped me to my car.

“We should call your fiancée,” he said.

I shook my head, “Don’t call her. She doesn’t need to know about this, at least not yet.”

He disagreed with not telling Mandy but said it was my choice. He drove me to the hospital. I was finally at peace with Kade locked away. Mandy would finally be safe.

Chapter sixteen

Mandy and Roger

TWODAYSLATER

“Bella!” I shook my head at her. It was a jam-packed afternoon, but she wasn’t too tired to flirt with the valet.

We’d just finished shopping for my bridal gown, cake, and wine tasting, and the guest list was completed. Bell loved that she was the official wine tester.

Roger got confirmation that the Pastor would perform the ceremony. It would be held in the small chapel. The reception would be here at the Penthouse.

It’s been two days since the proposal, and tomorrow was my wedding. I was freaked out. I couldn’t believe we could pull this off. But we did it. It’s still hard for me to imagine it.

If you have a lot of money, things that would typically be impossible… become possible...

Roger made sure Bella spent the next three days by my side. This was Bella’s territory. She loves planning a party. A wedding for her, even better. He knew Bella would make it easy and fun for me.

The wedding planner took care of most of the details. We only needed to find my wedding dress, Bella’s, cake, and wine tasting…Well, no wine for me. Bella happily took on that role.

“Cut me some slack, Mandy. The valet is cute,” Bella giggled.

I raised an eyebrow at her, “Really? You’re dating my brother.”

She smiled, “Stefan will always be the most handsome man to me, but I’m allowed to be flirty. I have to keep my skills up for Stefan.”

“That valet is way too old for you,” I pointed out.

“Exactly why he’s the perfect candidate for me to objectify and flirt with?” Bella gushed.

If I didn’t know Bella as well as I do, I’d think she had a crush on the valet. But I knew it was classic Bella.

We took the elevator to the Penthouse and saw Stefan and Roger relaxing on the couch. He grinned when he saw me. I rushed into his outstretched arms and kissed him softly.

“I missed you,” I said.

“Missed you more,” he replied.

“Ugh! You both are too mushy,” Bella teased. She and Stefan were in a passionate embrace as well.

“What about you two?” I quizzed.

“I can’t believe you’re getting married tomorrow, bro,” Stefan said, his grin widening.

He’s Roger’s best man, while Bella’s my maid of honor. It felt so surreal and scary at the same time. Roger seemed to read my mind because he held my hands and kissed them.

“We’re going to do this together,” he said.
