Sitting up, I wrap the towel around me, confused as to why Josh is here and why he's acting so cold towards me. He doesn't say anything else, just stands there with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.

"Is everything okay?" I finally ask, hoping for some sort of explanation as to why he's here and why he seems upset.

"No, everything is not okay," he finally responds, his voice tight with anger as he glares over at Liam.

I follow his gaze and find my brother staring back at what is going on as well, even though they are out of hearing distance.

Turning back, I find Josh staring at me. "You didn't want me. You can't have it both ways," I say.

"I want you more than I should," Josh responds. His steel blue eyes soften slightly. "And seeing you here, with him, wearing that... it's driving me crazy." He gestures towards Liam, who is now talking with my brothers on the other side of the pool.

My heart races at his words, unsure of what to make of them. "What do you mean?" I ask, needing clarification.

"It means that I was an idiot to let you walk out of my house like that the other night," he says, his eyes filled with regret. "I've been kicking myself ever since."

My heart swells at his confession, and I feel a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, there's a chance for us. Though I try to keep my composure, not wanting to seem too eager or desperate.

"You going to keep fighting this? Keep hurting both of us?" I ask, needing to know if there is action behind his words.

There is a possessive look in his eyes, and he takes a step toward me. I can feel my heart about racing out of my chest as he moves closer.

"Dinner at my place tonight. Bring a bag for the weekend.”

Before I can say anything else, he walks back into the house.

I can hardly believe what just happened. Josh actually admitted to having feelings for me and even invited me to dinner at his place. My heart is racing with anticipation, but also with a tinge of nervousness. What if this is all a mistake, and he changes his mind again? I shake my head, trying to push away the negative thoughts and focus on the possibility of something more with Josh.

Sitting up, I swing my legs over the side of the lounger, tightening the towel around me as my brother swims over toward me. Their friends are sitting there watching and I know they saw the whole thing but didn't get to hear any of it.

"What was that about?" Asher asks when he reaches me.

Well, I can tell him mostly the truth and just leave out certain bits.

"He saw your friends drooling over me and gave me a modesty lecture. Told me to cover up."

At my words, Finn turns around to glare at the other guys, who quickly look away.

"I'm going to head inside. I have plans this weekend. I need to get ready, anyway."

"Going to Sky's place again?" Zach asks.

Well, it's as good a cover as any. Guess I need to call her and tell her. I never did ask a friend to cover for me while I was somewhere else in high school so I can get the full experience now.

When I get inside, I find Josh talking with my parents in the kitchen and his eyes are on me. My parents' backs are turned, so I smirk and drop my towel, giving him a full view of the bikini he just told me to cover up.

He rolls his eyes to the ceiling like he is saying a prayer before they land back on me.

"I'm going to my room, and then I'm heading to dinner at Sky's. I'll probably stay the weekend there and help out some." I tell my parents.

"Okay, sweetheart, give her a hug for me," Mom says.

"I will," I say, leaving the kitchen.

Not only can I feel Josh's eyes on me, but when he gets a full view of my thong bikini bottom, I can hear the cussing as I go upstairs.

"You let her wear shit like that?" I hear Josh say to my parents.

"I'm not thrilled with it, but she is an adult. We can't really stop her," Dad says.
