“Fuck,” I muttered as pleasure racked my body for several long moments. I continued to stroke myself until the orgasm subsided and my cock grew too sensitive to continue before washing the evidence down the drain and hurrying to finish my shower.

The orgasm had been the most satisfying one I’d had in a long time. My memory of Dex in his suit with his green eyes laser-focused on me was far more arousing than any crappy porn I’d been watching. God, was I in trouble.

With a sigh, I turned off the water and stepped out of the shower, dripping onto the bath mat as I wrapped a towel around my body. I glanced at the time on my phone and swore. I had spent way too much time in the shower and needed to haul ass to get my suit back to the rental place before my date.

Once I was dry, I stood in my room, staring deep into the closet as if it would materialize any outfit that was sexier than jeans and a t-shirt with our kickball team’s name on it. Deeply aware of how little time I had left to get ready, I finally threw ona pair of jeans and a baseball tee that was just a little too small. The way it clung to my arms and chest seemed like a nice touch. With that, I hurried to get my suit back to the rental place and to get home in time for Dex to pick me up.

Chapter Eight

Dex

Ipulled my car to a stop in front of a small ranch-style house in a suburb just outside the city limits. The little white house was well kept, with a flower bed in front and a tidy yard, and it warmed me to see where Bennett lived. As I made my way up the sidewalk, I imagined him doing yard work and planting flowers. My mind wandered to the idea of him mowing the lawn shirtless, and I grinned and shook my head. No need to get myself all worked up before our first date.

Before I knocked on the door, Bennett stepped out and onto his porch, breathless and looking delicious in a tight baseball tee and faded blue jeans.

“Hey.” He closed the door and locked it. “You ready to go?”

I nodded. “Yeah, of course. We’re not in a rush or anything, though.”

He shrugged and followed me to the car. “I had a busy morning.” He stopped and put a hand on the roof of my car, meeting my gaze, and his cheeks turned a little pink.

“I love your house, by the way. Super cute. The flowers really look nice.”

“Oh. Um, thank you.” The blush on his cheeks deepened.

I knocked on the roof once. “Hop in.”

As I pulled onto the street, Bennett let out a low whistle. “This is a great car. What did you say you do for a living again?”

“I’m not sure you asked. I’m a number cruncher. Nothing fancy.”

Bennett laughed a little. “An electrician isn’t very fancy either.”

“But it’s way more practical,” I countered. “I do math for a living.”

He smirked. “That’s probably theleastsexy job I’ve ever heard of.”

I was taken aback by the flirty comment, but I leaned into it. “Yeah, it definitely doesn’t compare to working with thousands of volts, right?”

He grinned and winked before reaching for the radio. “Mind if I put some music on?”

“Go for it.”

We continued to chat on the way to the stadium, mostly about sports. The Guardians were playing the Hawks, a team from out of state, one I didn’t follow closely. When we arrived, I led him through the parking lot to the gates and pulled up the passes on my phone for the ticket-taker to scan. Our seats were in a box that Webber Holdings reserved every season, and as we entered the suite, Bennett whistled again.

“Swanky.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Don’t be too impressed. My company owns the seats. They just let me use them sometimes.” It wasn’t completely a lie, right?

He looked around at the room, which included seating for twenty, besides other luxuries. Most of the benefits of the suite—like food and beverage service—didn’t kick in until the regular season, though, so for that day, it really was just us for the duration of the game.

“Your company must really like you to let you use their suite.”

I shrugged. “They tolerate me,” I murmured. At least, Jude did.

Bennett sat on one of the chairs facing out, sinking into the leather with a groan. “Man, this is more comfortable than the couch I have at home.”

I took my seat in the chair next to him. “They’re not bad, are they?”
