“Like last month?” Andie snorts. She turns her gaze on me, narrowing her eyes. “Howdidyou get past the border without being detected, Javi?”

“I might’ve had something to do with that,” Lo admits with a wince. “He triggered the alarm, but anyone that would’ve seen it was out running. I went in and scrubbed the alert before anyone noticed.”

Andie gasps dramatically. “You sneaky little devil!” she chides, swatting Lo’s arm.

She shrugs, leaning into me as a smirk curls her lips. “What can I say? Guess I’m a rebel now.”

“As long as that was a one-time thing,” Madd mumbles, shooting her a stern look.

My mate rolls her eyes in response. “Obviously.”

“If we tighten the borders and set up a rotation to keep an eye on the security feeds, we should be alright to do the run,” Archer muses, swiping a hand over his chin in contemplation. “Though you and your pack should probably come run within the actual territory, Javi.”

“You guys are welcome to run with us” Iver suggests, seamlessly hopping back into the conversation. “I mean, our packs are kinda linked now through Lo, right?”

I turn to slide him an appreciative smile. “Yeah, that’d be cool.”

“So we’re agreed then?” Avery questions, her head swiveling as she sweeps her gaze around the table. “As long as we make sure it’s safe, we’ll run?”

Lo glances up at me, and as soon as I meet those blue eyes, I can tell she’s thinking the same thing I am. This run is special for us- it’s our first one together, and our first with both of us leading the pack. Safety is the priority, but damnit, wewantthis. We need it.

A silent understanding passes between us, and her lips pull into a grin as she turns back to the others, nodding. “Let’s do it.”

The Westfield packhouse is buzzing with activity as everyone gathers on the night of the full moon. Though it’s a familiar scene for me, it’s a bit more crowded than normal with the addition of my new pack, and so far, everyone’s mingling and getting along. The Westfield pack seems genuinely excited to have fresh blood in their midst, and I’ve been overwhelmed with congratulatory sentiments from my old pack now that word’s gotten out about my mate bond with Javi.

Everything about tonight is bittersweet. It could very well be my last full moon run with the Westfield pack, but it’s also my first with my new pack- and not just as a member, but as their Luna.

I swear I’m not freaking out or anything.

As if he can sense my inner turmoil, I feel Javi prowl up behind me, wrapping his arms around my body and pulling me back against his chest. His scent envelops me as I sink into hiswarmth, his mere proximity quieting my racing thoughts and bringing forth a wave of calm contentment.

He nuzzles his face into my neck, nipping my earlobe with his teeth. “You excited to let your wolf out to play tonight?” he growls, the low vibration of his voice beside my ear sending a shiver racing up my spine.

“Mmm, I’m more excited to see that beautiful wolf of yours,” I muse, a smile creeping across my lips.

I spin around in Javi’s arms to face him, looping my own arms around his neck and pushing up on my tiptoes to press a chaste kiss to his lips. I haven’t seen my mate’s wolf since the night our bond snapped into place, but the vision of him is still firmly etched in my memory. His wolf form is every bit as gorgeous as his human one.

“He might be a little wild tonight, he’s been driving me crazy all day,” Javi murmurs against my lips before pulling back to look into my eyes.

“I like your wild side,” I reply with a wink. “It seems to bring out my own.”

A growl rumbles in his chest as his hands drop to grip onto my hips. “How much longer ‘til the run? Do you think we have time to…?”

“No!” I laugh, pushing against his chest to shove him away playfully. “There’ll be plenty of time for that later.”

He throws his head back on a sigh, groaning. “You’re killing me,Cariño,” he mutters, scrubbing a hand over his face.

I roll my eyes, though he isn’t the only one suffering here. Javi looks so good tonight in his slacks and button-up that I can hardly stand it. His sleeves are rolled to the elbows, ink decorating the skin of one veiny, muscular forearm, and I lick my lips as I recall the way those arms looked wrapped around my thighs just this morning while his face was buried between my legs.

“Stop,” he rasps, and my eyes ping up to meet his heated gaze, his irises swimming with molten gold as his nostrils flare.

I squeeze my thighs together in an attempt to alleviate the ache of desire throbbing in my core. “Sorry,” I whisper.

Thankfully, Iver chooses that moment to summon everyone to the back lawn of the packhouse, pulling my focus from my dirty thoughts back to the present. Javi tosses an arm around my shoulders to steer me along with him as we head outside through the patio doors, whispering promises of what he plans to do with me after the run the whole way. He peppers in a few Spanish words just to drive me even crazier, and it’s all I can do to keep it together as we weave through the crowd to join Iver and the rest of my family at the front.

Before we start the run, there’s something important we have to do first: join Javi and the other newcomers with the six-pack mind-link. It’ll allow them to communicate with the rest of us while in wolf form, and it’s the last step to make this alliance official. Iver’s beta and his mate are already passing small blades around to the newbies so they can slit their palms, and my father hands the Westfield pack’s ceremonial dagger over to me to assist Javi.
