“Yeah, alright,” Javi drawls, a tinge of disappointment in his voice. He gets up to follow me out of the cabin, pausing beside the door while I re-lock the deadbolt. “So can we do this again sometime?” he asks hopefully. “Or I could take you out on a real date…”

“No,” I blurt, pulling the key out of the lock and whipping around to face him. The shuttered look in his eyes catches me offguard and has me immediately backtracking. “Sorry, I mean… I’d just rather keep this under wraps for now, until we figure out what we’re doing.”

He cards his fingers through his dark hair, the corner of his mouth lifting in a half-smile. “Yeah, I get it. I haven’t told my pack yet either.”

“Good,” I nod. Though I’m not sure why my heart sinks a little bit upon hearing that.

I turn away before he can see it on my face, jogging down the steps and moving beside them to re-hide the key while Javi lingers close by, watching me.

I’m not sure I’ve ever beenwatchedso much. I’m usually the one who does the watching while working security, monitoring the camera feeds. It’s a little unnerving to be on the receiving end of constant observation- the irony of which isn’t lost on me.

My phone vibrates again as I rise to my feet and I begrudgingly pull it out to check my messages, cursing under my breath. “I’ve really gotta go,” I mumble, reaching back into my pocket for my keys and hustling past him toward my car. “I’ll, uh, see you later?” I call, glancing back at Javi over my shoulder.

“Definitely,” he remarks, hitting me with that disarming grin.

I shoot him a sheepish smile in return as I get in my car and close the door, waiting for him to get in his own vehicle since he’s parked behind me. And as I sit there, heart still pounding and butterflies swarming in my belly, I can’t keep the grin off my face.

Because Ilikehim.

Which means I’m in big trouble.

“Harder, Javi, harder…”

I sink my fingertips into the flesh of her hips and yank her body backwards to meet my thrust, bottoming out in her tight heat with a groan.

“Like this, baby?” I growl, pulling out halfway and snapping my hips forward again, my pelvis slapping against her ass as I rail her from behind.

“Yes!” she screams, her dewy skin slick with sweat. “Yes, Javi, yes!”

“Fuck, Cariño, your pussy is strangling my cock,” I grit out. The sensation is too much- my balls are tightening, thigh muscles clenching in warning of my impending climax.

Right as I’m about to blow, she tosses her blonde hair back, those pale blue eyes meeting mine over her shoulder. They’re heavy-lidded, clouded with lust, and when her lips part on a breathy moan as she falls apart on my dick, I’m a goner.

A guttural groan leaves my throat as I pump my cock in my hand, spraying ropes of sticky cum on the shower wall. My knees tremble from the intensity of the orgasm, and I have to slap a hand up against the tile to keep myself upright, drawing ragged breaths as I ride out the wave of euphoria. Then, slowly, I open my eyes, the image I conjured of Lo in my mind slipping away as I find myself alone in my shower at the motel, my cock softening in my palm.

“Damn,” I mutter under my breath, reality settling back in around me.

I need to get laid.

The problem is, there’s only one person I want to stick my dick in, and like an idiot, I left last night without getting her number or making plans to meet up again. Which is why I’m here fantasizing about her while jacking off in the shower rather than laying the groundwork to try to turn those fantasies to reality.

Heaving a frustrated sigh, I soap up and rinse off, then turn off the shower and grab a scratchy threadbare towel from the rack. I use it to quickly dry my body, then get dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, finger-combing my hair into a messy fauxhawk before heading out for the day.

“Morning, Alpha,” Emily Crawford croons as soon as I step out from my motel room, making a beeline toward me. “How’d you sleep?”

“Fine,” I reply gruffly, my voice still a little rough like it always is in the morning. I glance down to slide my key into the lock, Emily’s footsteps quickening upon her approach. “How about you, settling in?” I mumble.

When I look up again, she’s right beside me, venturing a little too close into my personal space for comfort.

“Oh yeah, this place is way nicer than the last,” she says brightly, tossing her long auburn hair over a shoulder as I finish locking up. “Hey I was just thinking, if you’re not busy…”

“Sorry, Em,” I interrupt, sidestepping away from her. “I’m just heading out.”

“Oh, okay,” she murmurs, the heavy lilt of disappointment evident in her voice.

I can’t find it in myself to feel bad. Emily knows damn well she’s barking up the wrong tree here- she has been for a while. Even if I wasn’t solely focused on my mate at present, I don’t make a habit of sleeping with the she-wolves in my pack.
