As the night progresses, I steal glances at Ryan from across the room. His charisma draws people in, and his laughter is contagious. He effortlessly charms everyone he encounters, making them feel like the most important person in the room.

And yet, amidst the crowd, his eyes always find me.

A silent reassurance that no matter how many people surround us, our connection matters most.

As the evening winds down and the last guests bid farewells, Ryan takes my hand and leads me upstairs. Spring is coming to Summerville, cherry trees blooming all along Main Street, and the view is gorgeous in the moonlight. I can see friends from the White Oak walking down the sidewalk, making their way to their cars or the bed and breakfast down the street.

"I can't believe it," Ryan says, his voice filled with awe. "We did it, Sophia. We built this life together."

I lean against him, feeling the steady rise and fall of his chest against my back. "Yes, we did," I reply softly. "And it's only the beginning."

He wraps his arms around me, pulling me closer until there's barely any space between us. In the silence of the night, I can hear the soft sound of his heartbeat, a steady rhythm that matches my own. The stars above us twinkle as if they're celebrating our love, and I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude for this moment.

Me and Ryan.

Together til the end.

To have and to hold.

Ryan's lips brush against the nape of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. His touch ignites a fire within me, a passion that has only grown stronger with time. I turn to face him, my handsfinding their way to his strong shoulders, feeling the warmth of his embrace.

"Tonight has been perfect," I whisper, my voice filled with longing. "But now it's just you and me."

He smiles, his eyes glistening in the moonlight. "I've been waiting for this moment all night," he murmurs, his voice low and husky.

He turns me in his arms, and I loop mine around his neck, gazing up into his eyes. "Earlier, when you said you want to have another baby...you're not going to bail on me, are you?"

He chuckles. "Hell no. Not with Isaac with us now, especially. I'm in this for the long haul, baby...and even if we didn't have a kid, I still would be."

I bite my lip. "You mean that?"

"Of course I do," he says. "I love you, Sophia. Now and forever."

The intensity in his gaze is undeniable, and I feel my heart swell with emotions that words can't fully capture. In this moment, it's as if time stands still, the weight of our love surrounding us like a protective bubble.

"I love you too, Ryan," I whisper, my voice filled with sincerity. "You've brought so much light into my life, and I can't imagine a future without you."

His lips meet mine in a passionate kiss, the kind that reignites the fire between us. The sensation is electric, our bodies pressed together as if they were always meant to fit perfectly. At this moment, there is no doubt in my mind that we are soulmates, destined to be together.

As we slowly break the kiss, Ryan brushes his thumb across my cheek, his touch tender and full of affection. "Tonight, I want to show you just how much you mean to me," he whispers huskily. "And then maybe a few nights after that."

I smile. "Does all the nights sound okay?"

He grins. "Sounds great to me."

We kiss again, and I get lost in the taste of him, the intense heat coming from his body. I love this man so much...and we were so close to losing it all.

But here we are.

Right where we're supposed to be.

And I wouldn't have told our story any other way.
