Isla giggled. Drool dripped from her pouty lips.

Joy wrapped itself so tight around Laura she thought she’d burst. She’d worked her fingers to the bone to help build this dream, and now she got to be a part of watching it grow and flourish. She’d get to be there for women who needed someone to give them a hand, a shoulder, or spare room for the night.

She’d give them hope.

And then she’d get to go home to her family—to the little cabin her husband had built and snuggle him and her daughter close.

She hugged Cade, thankful for every blessing in her life. “I love you. Thank you for always believing in me. Thank you for showing me I needed to believe in myself.”

Isla lifted her arms toward Laura and kicked her feet.

She took her daughter and inhaled the intoxicating scent of baby shampoo and lotion. Her daughter would always know love—always know security and kindness and compassion.

She’d always have a home filled with family who’d do anything to see her smile.

And nothing in this world could ever be better than that.
