“It’s not like that!” Tarryn objected, her flush turning a disturbing shade of crimson.

“Is it okay that I didn’t stick exactly to the script?” I asked. The deviation had felt natural at the time, but now I wasn’t sure.

“Melissa? Tarryn’s friend Loïc wants to know if it’s okay that he deviated from your script a little.”

“Hell yeah!” the woman called back.

“Should we do another take?” Tarryn avoided my gaze as she spoke directly to Liza.

“Absolutely not. The scene turned out a little sexier than we’d originally meant it to be, but none of us are complaining.”

Liza went to talk to someone else, and Tarryn finally looked my way. “Don’t get attached to the idea of acting. I’ll be decapitating you soon.”

Hopefully, no one noticed my erection. My leather pants were so tight they left little to the imagination.

“I’ll have to make sure I earn my untimely death.”

“Tomorrow. We’re done for today.” She walked away and kept going. Not sure what was happening, I followed her. Several of the workers had been watching our exchange, even though they probably couldn’t hear what was being said.

“Tomorrow at four thirty!” Liza called to our backs as we were about to leave the building.

“Aye-aye, captain!” Tarryn called back.

She pushed through the heavy metal door and out into the lot. She headed for her trailer, not saying anything and not waiting for me as I trailed along behind her.

“Can I give you a ride home?” I asked, aiming for meek, but the throbbing of my dick might have given my words an edge.

“In my own car?”

She opened her trailer door and went inside. I followed her in.

She rounded on me as soon as the door was closed.

“What was that?” she said under her breath, brows lowered.

“I don’t know. I did what they said.”

“My job isn’t a game, Loïc.”

“I know it isn’t. I didn’t know this was going to happen any more than you did. I only came to see you and was hoping to watch. It’s not like I called ahead and used my wiles to get Liza to give me a bit part.”

“I know.” She groaned.

“Is it really that big of a deal? You get to kill me soon.”

“Liza was talking to Melissa when we were on our way out. I’m guessing your imminent death is being postponed, as we speak.” She really looked upset.

“How do I fix this? I can go back and tell them I changed my mind—that I don’t want to do it. They won’t be able to use that footage if I withdraw my permission, right?”

“They haven’t even had you sign a real contract yet. I have no idea where things stand.” She groaned again and dropped into a plush armchair. “I’m going to call my agent to see if she’ll represent you as a favor to me.”

I knelt in front of her and took her hands in mine.

“What are you doing on your knees?” Tarryn asked, frowning at me.

“Begging your forgiveness.”

She grimaced. “That’s completely unnecessary. It’s not a big deal.”
