“We should go out to celebrate,” Valor cut in, drawing her attention away from our impromptu make-out session.

“Look what you did to me!” I huffed at my fiancée, dragging her hand down to where my cock was throbbing in my jeans. “And in a public place, too. So inappropriate.”

Valor leaned between us and stole her mouth from me, kissing away whatever she might have said, but she continued to investigate me shamelessly with her hand. She pulled away from both me and Valor and gave him a peck on the nose.

“Lunch would be great, but I’m busy later.”

Valor gasped in mock indignation. “Doing what?”

“I promised Minnow I would hang out with her tonight. She’s helping me choose furniture for the upstairs living room.”

“You didn’t tell me we had plans,” Valor said, looking mystified.

“It’s a girls’ night. You’re not invited. Minnow’s husbands are giving her the night off to chill, so we’re going to watch movies and scroll through furniture websites.”

“You’re leaving the two of us alone together?” He sounded aghast, but his eyes were speculative.

“The two of you should go out to a club. Loïc loves dancing.”

“Are you going to take advantage of us when we come home all sloppy and drunk?” he asked, helping her down off the table.

“Not without prior negotiation, Sir. That is not safe, sane, or consensual.” She batted her eyelashes at him, and he growled affectionately.

“You can take advantage of me anytime you like.”

“Oh sure,” I groused. “You say that to Tarryn but complain every time I do it.”

“I complained.” He leaned in to kiss me, shocking the hell out of both me and Tarryn. It was a brief kiss, but it was on the lips. “But did I ever safeword?”

“Absolutely not.”

“Then we’re all set.” Tarryn clapped her hands together and brushed her shirt down over her belly. “I’m going to go hang out with my new bestie while you two go out and party so I can live vicariously through you. You’d better get it out of your system, because in a few months the two of you were going to be changing diapers and walking around like zombies.”

“And you’ll be resting up so that we can do it all over again.”

“Valor!”

“Tarryn!”

“Loïc!” I said, refusing to be left out.

“You’re not in trouble right now,” Tarryn told me.

“Give it time. I’m sure I can find some mischief to get into.”

Chapter Twenty-Two: Loïc

I always was a person.

I was never stupid.

I deserved love.

Loïc Leduc, Journal 15

“I feel ridiculous,” Valor complained. He lingered by the door, but I took his hand and pulled him into the club. He was wearing jeans and a T-shirt—it was very different from the business casual he normally wore. As a person who regularly and shamelessly went through his things, I knew he only owned the one pair of jeans.

His plain outfit drew attention to his strong bone structure and tousle of blond hair. Gorgeous man.
