“Not yet! I’d half convinced myself we were having quintuplets or something.”

“We don’t know what we’re doing yet, so starting off with one seems like a good idea.” Valor laughed.

“Maybe we’ll have twins the next time, or the time after that.” I winked at Tarryn.

Tarryn pressed her lips together and gave me a scary look which probably meant I should stop before I made a sex joke at a prenatal appointment. Weird. Everyone had to know how the baby got in there.

The woman chuckled politely. “Baby is measuring about twelve weeks.”

Tarryn gasped, and I counted backward, trying to think of where we were and when.

“Spain?” I blurted.

“Spain,” Tarryn confirmed.

That meant the baby really could be mine or Valor’s.

I poked around at my feelings, but instead of trepidation at the idea that they might have a baby together and leave me out of everything, I was still excited. Even if the baby was a tiny clone of Davenport, I trusted them not to dump me. I was going to be the kid’s father—or one of them, at least.

“This is a nice souvenir from Spain.” The woman grinned. “Maybe you can pick a name that reminds you of your trip.”

The tech handed both a wet and dry towel to Tarryn, and Valor helped her clean up the mess of ultrasound gel.

“We’ll see you back here in a few weeks. If that appointment doesn’t work for you, let the secretary know. Don’t forget to pick up the list of clinics in Prague.”

“Thank you!” Valor and Tarryn called as she strode out of the room.

“A name that reminds us of Spain?” I mused. “What do you think of Amusement-Park-Storage-Shed Davenport?”

Valor helped Tarryn sit up, and she poked me in the side. “Not funny.”

“I think it’s hilarious.” Valor brushed her hair back with his fingers.

“Oh my god, what was I thinking when I agreed to take on two of you?”

“You were thinking about all the dick you were going to get,” he whispered.

Okay, so making inappropriate jokes at the doctor’s office was fine, as long as no one was around to hear.

Tarryn’s face was very red. She shushed him, and he laughed.

“I guess we do have to start thinking about names. It’s going to be even more difficult with three of us to please.” Tarryn gazed in fascination at the printout the technician had set aside for us.

“I guess it would be Amusement-Park-Storage-Shed Davenport-Leduc,” Valor said. “Or does Leduc-Davenport sound better? No offense, but we’re not all changing our last names to Leduc.”

“It would be easier for me to change my last name to Davenport,” I agreed.

“You would do that?” Valor’s eyes were wide, and his brows were trying to disappear into his hairline.

“I would love nothing more than to get rid of the last name my mother gave me. For a little while I tried to get rid of the first name, too, butnothing else fit me as well. Besides, now that I’ve heard it from people who like me for the past few years, I’ve grown attached to it.”

“I don’t know if I can get used to not calling you Leduc. Calling you Davenport won’t have the same effect if we’re all Davenports.”

“Maybe you can choose a cuter pet name for him,” Tarryn said sweetly.

“Or he can keep Leduc as a middle name.”

I kissed her long and deeply, making sure to use a lot of tongue to make Valor uncomfortable, but then a moment later she was kissing me back, and I became completely engrossed in what we were doing and forgot where we were.
