“I think you will find loving Katarina is a lot easier than you think.” Aeon pulled down, releasing the door. “And one of the best feelings in the world is when she tells you those three words and she looks at you with all the trust in the world.”

He walked down the stairs leaving us.

“Katarina’s love is like sunshine. We’ve been living in the dark for far too long. Do not let fear keep the warmth away because it feels fucking incredible,” I said, before walking down the stairs too.

He didn’t walk down right away, but when I reached the bottom of the steps, I heard him coming down. I just hoped he would give her a chance.

It had been years since I had been down here. We used to come here in the beginning, hoping that we could escape in the tunnels, but the spell was smart and there was a barrier just like above. There was no point in being down here as of late, which is why we never used it.

Aeon was standing in front of a cell looking unbothered. I stood next to him, seeing the bastard, who had taken Katarina, hanging from the ceiling. He hadn’t had any food in three days, only fluids, and he had been hanging upside down on and off since we caught him.

“We ready?” Zev asked, standing by the door to the cell.

We nodded, and he opened the door. The lack of food was hopefully going to make him desperate and being upside down would make him disoriented and easier to manipulate. Keeping someone on the edge of death always made a good motivator to get the information we needed, at least that's what the guys said.

“Fuck, I was hoping it was the ghost, he’s probably nicer than you fucks.” He groaned when Zev brought him down, dragging him into a room that didn’t smell like shit.

I walked close enough to be able to either kick his side or step on his shoulder. He bared his teeth at me when I did it for the third time.

“If you think stepping on me is going to make me talk than you have another?—”

Zev dragged him over a bump that hit him right on the head as he went over it.

“You motherfucker.” He winced, bringing me a bit of satisfaction.

He grumbled the entire way to the room. We sat him down in a metal chair with water around it, in case he tried to shock us and the artifact that Serena had used on him stopped working. We hoped the chair and water would deter him from using his power, but we had no clue on how it worked.

Once he was secure, Zev stepped back, standing with us in a united front staring at him. We didn’t say anything, waiting for him to start the conversation. He looked at each of us before he spoke.

“Well, I knew eventually you would come down here, but I didn’t know all three bears would be here.”

I had no idea who the three bears were and if he thought we were bears then maybe this might be easier than I thought.

“I’m not a blonde, but I could play Goldielocks. Just point me to some porridge and beds and we have ourselves a children’s story,” he smirked.

“This is going to be simple. Answer our questions and we let you go,” Aeon said.

“Answer your questions and you’ll let me go?” He looked at us suspiciously.

“It depends on what kind of answer we get,” I said, getting excited.

“Okay,” he said, looking between us again. “I think I can do that.”

I saw Zev glance at us, nodding his head and I took that as my cue. I snapped my fingers and his legs caught on fire.

“Goddess, Lucien, not yet,” Aeon shouted at me as the bastard screamed in pain.

“Oops,” I snapped my fingers, extinguishing the flame, but leaving one leg still burning. “Ah shit, my bad.” I snapped my fingers again, extinguishing the flames.

Aeon and Zev looked at me in disbelief.

“I thought he was asking for the flame,” I said, feeling a little embarrassed. I was fucking up the interrogation, but I wouldn’t be sad that this dickweed suffered a bit.

“You said I wouldn’t be harmed,” he yelled, as his face grew red.

“I said we would let you go, I didn’t say in what condition, the better answers we receive then the less pain you endure.” Zev stepped close to him. “Now let’s start with the easy questions. Who sent you?”

He glared at us, before he settled on me. I lit a small fire in my palm hoping to give him more incentive to give us the answers we wanted.
