“I argued against her, but I didn’t want to go against her wishes and someone very wise told me when your mate is pregnant you never say no to them,” Zev said, with a small smile. We instantly knew it was Mr. Potter who had offered his advice.

“This shouldn’t have just been your burden to carry. That child is all of ours and we should have shouldered the weight of losing both of them together, like a pack,” Aeon said, laying a hand on Zev’s shoulder.

“That baby is all of ours, no matter who the father technically is, she is ours,” I said, with a smile having a weird feeling that it was a girl.

“She?” Aeon raised his brow at me.

“I think it's a girl, too,” Zev said, with a ghost of a smile. “She is going to look like the spitting image of Katarina, and will be equally as sassy.”

“I’ve seen children in one of my visions,” Aeon said, looking in the distance, lost in a previous vision. One of them looked like her with one yellow eye and one violet eye.”

“Children?” I was surprised.

“Yeah, at least three,” Aeon confirmed, with a small smile. “Two girls and a boy.”

My heart swelled with hope, the possibility of us having a family brought so much happiness that I didn’t know if I should cry or laugh.

“You heard that Katarina, you have to come back to us,” Zev said softly, brushing her hair away from her face. “Our future is waiting for us. I love you.”

“Come back, beautiful.” Aeon kissed her forehead, laying a hand over her stomach. “Our family needs you. I love you so fucking much.”

“Find your way back to us, Kit Kat, find your way back to your mates, to our family,” I said, laying my hand over Aeon's hand that was resting on her stomach. “We need you, our life isn’t complete without you, we are lost without you. I love you, today, tomorrow and into the afterlife.”

It came out of nowhere, but I felt a presence with us, and the familiarity was immediate. It was the moon goddess. The bond felt like electricity coursing through my body. A small gasp from Katarina made us all look at her, she coughed as she tried to open her eyes.

“Katarina!”

“Kit Kat!”

“Kitten!”

We all yelled at the same time, crowding her. She looked at all of us, fighting to awaken.

“Th…Th… Thane… Cast…” she whispered, before she closed her eyes again.

“Thane and Cast?” I looked at each of them before looking back at Katarina, who looked flush cuddling against Zev.

“Caston?” Aeon looked alarmed. “You think she is trying to warn us?”

I growled, thinking that was the only thing that made sense.

“I’m going to run the perimeter,” I said, getting up quickly.

“Wait, Lucien! If he’s out there, you can’t go out alone,” Aeon said, getting up with me.

“I’m going to put her in bed, and I’ll come with you,” Zev said, standing with Katarina in his arms.

“No, if he’s here then one of us needs to stay with her and the baby,” I said, feeling even more protective of my mate.

“He’s right, stay with her and if we feel something or if anything feels out of the ordinary, we will let you know,” Aeon said, walking out of the destroyed library.

I kissed her forehead before following Aeon out the door. Every instinct in me was telling me to stay with her.

“Maybe we should cast a barrier spell. Even if it's not strong enough, at least it will give us a chance to make an escape,” I said, walking behind Aeon.

“I think we should. Let’s run, make sure we are safe for now and we can do a quick barrier and detection spell in the forest.” Aeon nodded at me.

His expression was fierce, and I knew the same protectiveness had flared to life in him. We were now at our full potential and even stronger now that we were mated.
