She smiled as she gasped for air. “Too late Thane, with my sacrifice, you or I won't be able to do anything.”

She shuddered her last breath when another explosion of power came from her. This time it hit me like a boulder. Her magic felt like my own as it coursed through my body. It was full of emotion; it was full of love as a surge of what felt like electricity went through me and I was thrown back into my own body.

I screamed at the pain. It hurt so much that I surely thought I wouldn’t survive this. Opening my eyes, seeing that I was above the ground with my men below yelling and grunting in pain.

Love.

A whisper of a voice cut through the pain.

Cursed until a Belladonna breaks the spell.

Bound together until the curse is broken.

Cursed while a daughter resides with them for a year.

Bound together until the words are spoken.

I love you.

Vivienne wanted them to find love.

A surge of power filled me, but instead of fighting it, I let it wash over me. Even though the pain was unbearable, I allowed it to flow through me. I felt the curse snap under pressure, along with something breaking inside of me. It was unbearable until everything stopped abruptly, and I fell into the abyss of darkness.

The curse was finally broken, my magic had been restored and I no longer felt the burden of the curse sitting on my chest. With all the time I had, I had imagined what it would feel like a thousand times, but this is not even close to what had played in my head. I didn’t expect to fall in love or Aeon to open up or Zev to let go. I definitely didn’t expect to find our mate, or that we would become a bonded, complete pack. Having a child was the last thing that I assumed would happen for us.

We all watched Katarina with rapt attention. She wasn’t moving or breathing and her heart wasn’t beating. I fell on my knees next to them when I finally accepted the fact that my light had been taken away, and possibly my child.

“The bond hasn’t been broken.” Zev’s voice broke the silence. “I still feel her.”

“I can still feel her, too,” Aeon said, pushing her hair out of her face.

They were right, I still felt her too. It was faint, like a slow heartbeat, but it hadn’t been severed. Now that my magic was back, I felt like everything was magnified. My magic, the bond and my wolf all felt too big to fit inside my body.

“What does that mean?” I couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. They began to fall down my face in streams as I tried not to completely have a breakdown.

Aeon looked up at me, opened his arms up as I scooted over to him, and I laid my head on his shoulder.

“I don’t think she’s dead, maybe somewhere in between, I don’t know,” Aeon said, looking at Katarina. “Is she really pregnant?”

Zev just nodded, looking down at her.

“I knew you were keeping something from us,” Aeon snapped.

“Why didn’t you tell us?” I sat up getting angry. “How long have you known?

“She didn’t…” He looked up at us with regret. “If she didn’t break the curse, she didn’t want you guys mourning both of them. We found out a week ago.”

Aeon was right when he said he felt like they were keeping something from us. As much as I wanted to stay mad that they had lied to us, I just couldn’t be.

“But we could of…” Aeon’s voice trailed off.

“Fuck,” I whispered, looking up as more tears fell down my face.

I would have been wrecked, glancing at Aeon, I knew he would have been too.
