“Where are Anton and Nikita?” I know it’s disrespectful to bark orders at her, but my emotions are through the roof.

I reach down and grab my shoes before I stomp to the door, throw it open, and walk out. I’m only in a pair of shorts with no shirt.

“Which hospital?” I say with less bite.

“Her guards are following her.”

She tells me the name of the hospital. By the time I get to the car, the others are with me.

“Babushka, have one of your guards detain the women.” I pause. “Please.”

“They took off. One got in the ambulance with her and the other ran. Sparrow is riding with her too. Let Andrei know. I’m heading there now.”

She hangs up, and I look to Mikhail. “University Medical Center.” I then turn to Andrei. “Sparrow is with her in the ambulance.”

“What happened?” Andrei asks.

“What about the fight?” one of my brigadiers asks, and I ignore him.

“Reschedule.” Andrei’s command leaves no room for argument.

“She hasn’t been feeling well, and I guess two women confronted her in the restroom and she fainted. They called an ambulance, and that’s where they are heading.”

We make it to the hospital in record time. I storm into the building and see Lyric sitting with Sparrow. I point to her and look at Anton. “Don’t let her leave.” He nods, and I go to the counter.

“My wife was brought in via ambulance. I want to go back there.”

“Who’s your wife?” the admissions representative asks.

“Lennon Volkov.”

She types away and then looks up at me.

“Her emergency contact is back there with her already, and only one person is allowed at a time.”

“Who’s her emergency contact?” As I ask the question, the answer comes to mind.

“It’s Bronwyn,” Lyric says as she moves toward me. “I’m not leaving. I need to talk to you, but you need to take care of my sister first and protect her.”

“Fuck,” I roar, and security makes their way to me. “I need to be with my wife, so you can back off.”

One nods and walks away, but the other stays close by.

Andrei tries to call Bronwyn to get him to come out, but he won’t answer the phone. Sparrow calls him and he takes her call. He says he’ll be out shortly. Another half an hour goes by, andBabushkais now here waiting with us too. I’ve been pacing, but a doctor doesn’t come out. Finally, the doors open and Bronwyn steps out. He tries to ignore me, but I won’t let him.

“What is going on? Is she okay?”

“She asked for a few moments by herself.”

I move back to the counter and demand to go back there, but again I’m left waiting. When the doors finally open, a nurse steps out and walks to Bronwyn. I move to stand by him. She gives me the side eye.

“I’m her husband,” I growl, and she nods.

“I’m sorry, gentlemen, but she just checked herself out AMA. She’s left.”

The ground under me shifts as anger takes over. She’s without guards.

“She went AMA? She’s not here?” Lyric jumps up.
