Breathless, keening sounds came from my throat as he pressed in deeper, slowly filling me with his huge length. I was already gripping him, already bucking my hips. He was steady. And he didn’t pause when his knot met my entrance.

He pushed past the last bit of resistance, giving me that quick burst of pain and pleasure I desperately craved. Pressure surged just inside my entrance where his knot started to swell, stretching me and making me cry out.

My vision went white as Griffin roared and my cunt swallowed him. Rolling waves of release crashed over and through me. I felt his hands cupping my face as I arched under him, my body stretching and flexing to the bounds of my limits. Then his breath stroked over the sensitive skin above my breast, and he bit.

The completed bond was a flood that threatened to drown me. Griffin’s possessive, protective love surged through my veins. Another powerful climax shuddered through my body, and I threw my arms around his neck, holding on as the waves took me under.

When I could breathe again, and my vision came back into focus, tears were drying on my face. I couldfeel his shaft deep inside, all the way to my womb. It was almost as though it went to my heart.

I had three marks, but it was the look in Griffin’s eyes that sealed everything together. His adoration and joy. I smiled up at him, feeling contentment from Ben and Michael at the same time.

We stayed locked together, clinging to each other and letting our feelings do the talking, until Griffin finally loosened inside me. He slid out with a rush of seed and collapsed next to me, then pulled me against his chest. I must have fallen asleep.

When I woke sometime later, it was dark, and three bodies surrounded me on the bed. My pack. I felt for the bond and found reassurance and love from all of them, even in sleep. Then I closed my eyes with a smile, completely exhausted and utterly content.

EPILOGUE

TRACY

I hung up my phone and stared blankly at the screen.

Fuck.

Laughter came from the backyard. I shook my head and slipped the phone into my pocket. Our housewarming party was winding down, and I needed to put on a happy face before going out to join everyone again.

I had a few secrets to keep.

Walking through the huge kitchen to get to the backyard, I was still a little in awe of the house. We’d found the perfect place—an old farmhouse with its own small orchard, nestled in the foothills, halfway between the city and the park. It was spacious and filled with light. I loved it.

A year into being with the pack, everything had settled into an easy routine. Ben and I worked together pretty often, and I was a co-author on hislatest paper. Griffin traveled a little more than I liked, but I knew it wouldn’t always be that way. He was a great teacher and his expertise was in demand. Michael had to crash in his own bedroom on the three nights a week when he came home late from closing the restaurant, but otherwise, he was actually at home more than the other two.

And on the nights they were all home… I felt my cheeks heat as I went out the door into the backyard.

Michael looked up from the grill and raised his eyebrow. I shrugged. My emotions were all over the place right now, and he could feel it.

Kat came up and squeezed my arm. “This has been so much fun! I love your house. We need to get the baby home, but I’ll see you next week, right?”

I gave her a hug. “Yep, I’ll be there. Drive safe.”

We were getting together at her house by the spa, and I was actually looking forward to it. My pack would be with me. If I needed to leave, I could. But I was pretty sure it was going to be fine. A chance to confirm that those memories didn’t have the same power over me that they used to.

And after that phone call, I had gossip to share with Kat when I got there.

More people started to head out, now that it was getting dark. Kat’s pack said their goodbyes, followed by various co-workers and colleagues and friends. Michael, Griffin, and Ben kept giving mequestioning looks in between hugs and handshakes. They’d just have to wait.

My parents had left earlier. They loved that I was surrounded by big, burly alphas who could protect me. I refrained from pointing out that I’d been doing fine on my own. Their hearts were in the right place, so I let it go.

Maddie was the last to leave. She leaned in for a long hug and whispered in my ear.

“If you ever need it, I’ll always have a couch you can sleep on.” She pulled back with a huge grin, and we both laughed. “Seriously, it’s been crazy with you trying to live in two places. This is awesome. I plan to visit often.”

“You’d better.”

Things were getting interesting between her and Pete, so I wondered how much longer she’d even stay at our little house in the park.

“Hey,” she said, looking around at the empty backyard. “I never did meet your handler.”

“Tiffany, yeah. She called me earlier. Had a family emergency.”
