“Is she okay?” Ben asked in a low voice.

“No, but she will be. It was definitely something about the bedroom.”

A quiet growl rumbled in Griff’s chest. I flashed him a look of warning. That wasn’t going to help.

He blew out a breath. “I want to murder whoever put that look on her face.”

“I know. But we have to take it easy. She needs to trust us before she can confide in us.”

Ben’s gaze darted between us as he ran a hand through his hair. “Both of you, right? We’re all feeling it?”

“She’s ours.” Griff and I said it at the same time, a whisper that felt like a shout.

Ben tipped his chin in a solemn nod. His eyes were clear and sharp, the confusion gone.

“Good. I’ve been working with her for a while. She knows me. We can?—”

The sound of the curtain being thrown back was followed quickly by Tracy’s loud, booted footsteps on the wood floor. She barely glanced at us as she hurried toward the front door.

“Nice to meet you all. I’m glad you’re doing better, Ben. I need to get home before it gets too dark.” She spoke in a rush over her shoulder, reaching for the knob.

For a long, painful second, my soul howled in agony. She was walking away, and I’d only just found her. I couldn’t let her go, not yet. Not ever.

In slow motion, Tracy turned the knob, and the door swung open. At least two feet of powdery snow fell in a heap at her feet. We were all momentarily stunned, staring out at a different universe than the one we’d been in that morning.

The trucks were buried up to the tops of their tires, and it was still coming down. Big, fat flakes swirled through the air and in through the open doorway.

It was a whiteout. A fucking blizzard. And it was evening now, almost sunset.

Tracy tried to close the door, but the snow was in the way. Griff ran back to the storage room and returned with a shovel, moving fast. When he’d gotten enough cleared, Ben and I stepped in next toTracy, and together we shoved against the door and got it closed and bolted.

“Fuck.” She looked at the three of us, all panting by the door. I couldn’t read her expression.

Then the lights in the cabin went out, and we stood in the dancing glow from the fireplace.

TRACY

Awkward.

That was the first word that came to mind.Awesomewas a close second. As much as I wanted that last sentiment to be sarcastic, it wasn’t. Some giddy omega part of me wanted to pump her fist with joy and spread her legs.

They smelled fantastic. They looked so incredibly good. Three tall, built, fine as fuck alphas.

Stuck in a tiny cabin. With no power. During a snowstorm.

I can’t leave. I’m trapped.

It was a splash of cold water. My lustful thoughts were replaced by panic. If I didn’t take a deep breath right fucking now, I was going to lose my shit. Again.

Damn, that had been embarrassing.

But Michael had figured it out and hustled me out of the bedroom, even though he couldn’t possiblyknow the details. I’d been careful. Only my parents and Tiffany knew the name I used now. It sounded like he had his own experiences with trauma, and he recognized it in me.

Another member of the fucked-up club.

Something must have shown on my face, because Ben was suddenly next to me, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. His herbal scent filled my lungs. When I looked into his eyes, past the reflection of the warm firelight to the deeper shade of green underneath, he smiled. I felt myself smiling back.
