But all things considered, it could have been a lot worse. Already, the bite marks on my shoulders were healing far morequickly than I thought they would. When I looked at them in the mirror that day, they were already scarring over with pink tissue.

Truthfully, I kind of liked how possessive those bites felt, like I was carrying around my mates with every step I took. It made me feel even closer to them than I already was.

And that didn’t even cover the quite literal phone line to their emotions that I felt. It was as if their hearts had become mine. I could feel Caelum’s frustrated worry, yet also his fierce need to protect me, and Ry—well, Ry was just a horn dog that was still thinking about sticking his dick deep in my ass while also just wanting to hold me in his lap.

Honestly, it was a little endearing.

When they both looked in my direction, their warmth washed over me, and my own heart fluttered with emotion in return.

I’m not sure when it had happened, but I’d fallen for the two men, and I didn’t just mean a little.

Like head over heels tumbling straight into the mud kind of fallen.

Caelum gazed over at me and caught me watching him. Without saying a word, he strode over to me and took me in his arms, and in the span of a moment, I felt all of his worries melt away. He squeezed me tight in his embrace as I wrapped my arms around his waist.

My stomach chose that exact moment to growl loud enough to wake the dead.

“It sounds like we should feed you,” he chuckled, pressing his lips to the top of my head in a gentle kiss.

“I thought neither of you could cook,” I pouted, and he grinned.

“Ry doesn’t know everything about me,” he countered, his smirk nearly splitting his face in two.

“Hey! You never cookedmedinner!” Ry exclaimed.

“I never put my dick in you either,” Caelum deadpanned.

“If anyone deserves a good meal, it’s me,” I muttered.

“Plus, I just like her better,” Caelum teased, chuckling quietly.

“Rude,” Ry exclaimed, but he was smiling just as much as Caelum was. It was sort of adorable in a way.

“I can help, boss,” Beau offered. I knew his offer wasn’t really for me though. He wanted to show off for my sister, and I couldn’t blame him for it. She didn’t exactly seem unwilling. Even now, she kept glancing back at him just like he did her. If we weren’t in the room, she’d probably climb him like the tall, lanky tree he was, which was still like two and a half times her size.

Even if I forbade her from seeing him, I knew her. She’d just do it anyway, and probably with more sexual zeal if she thought I disapproved.

“Mon cher! I make my beignets!” Wendy offered, and Samael sat down at the kitchen table with a huff. He had this exasperated look on his face and shook his head. Silas leapt up in the chair beside him and gave him a knowing look.

“Now sit down and let me take care of you,” Caelum grinned at me. His expression was soft, and for a moment, his hand cupped my face. Then he leaned down and gently pressed his lips against mine in a sweetly tender kiss that left my head reeling and my heart quickening in my chest. Desire pooled in the pit of mybelly, and when he pulled away, I couldn’t help but lift my hand to touch my lips.

His ocean blue eyes locked on mine as he led me over to the table, where he pulled out a chair like a perfect gentleman for me to take a seat. And then he moved fast. In no time at all, the air was filled with the aroma of another pot of brewing coffee, eggs, bacon, pancakes, mixed with the smell of Wendy’s freshly-made beignets.

Caelum skillfully flipped pancakes on the griddle, each one a golden masterpiece. It was impressive.

Beau got the easy job. He was in charge of brewing more coffee. Eventually, he figured it out, and the rich, earthy scent of the hot brew wafted through the air, bringing with it a sense of comfort and warmth.

Wendy manned the beignet station, and when she was ready, she expertly sprinkled powdered sugar on the freshly fried pastries, but most of it ended up on her. The sweet, sugary aroma enveloped the kitchen, making my mouth water in anticipation.

Needing to be involved just a little bit, Ry made the toast and cut up fresh fruit, then put everything out. The whole pack seemed to have also opted for more breakfast, and as we gathered around, the afternoon sunlight filtering through the windows, I felt like I belonged. We felt like a pack.

I filled my plate with a generous helping of pancakes, bacon, eggs, and the irresistible beignets that Wendy had prepared. The combination of savory and sweet flavors danced on my taste buds, and when I was done with my first helping, I filled my plate with another.

What? Don’t judge me.

I had worked up an appetite. It was a lot keeping up with not just one of these wolves, buttwo!

“You were holding out on me, Cael,” Ry accused, but his expression was still playful. “Showing me up in front of our girl,” he smirked.
