“Fuck that. I’ve got this fancy new form to test out. I want to see what I can do,”she exclaimed, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. “Besides, don’t act like you don’t need all the help you can get. One of you dickheads die, then so do I.”

Not only was my mate hot as fuck, but she was a little badass too.

I couldn’t wait to see her in action.

Then all of a sudden, the tension broke, and the room exploded into utter chaos.

A horde of wolves leapt through the windows, their eyes full of primal aggression and vicious determination.

I let my wolf take the fuck over. He knew what to do—look for the biggest fucker he could find.

I crouched low, readying myself for whatever came next.

Caelum was the first to lunge into the action, and I leapt after him, baring my teeth with fury towards anyone that would daretrespass on our property and try to hurt not only my pack, but my mate, too.

Caelum fought with the fury of a wolf protecting his mate. He was a force to be reckoned with. His muscles rippled beneath his fur, and he battled with a predatory grace, each movement calculated and lethal. With a powerful snap of his jaws and a surge of energy, he grabbed the throat of the first attacker, one that had challenged us directly, and started to tear at it.

I fought at Caelum’s side, my coordination with his movements so well-practiced that it was nearly instinctual. He was strong, but I was the muscle of the pack. My wolf was a blur of motion as I wove through the chaotic melee, my instincts sharp and my movements swift.

Another wolf bounded and lunged towards us. I felt the sting of his teeth against my own fur as I countered with equal ferocity.

We fought hard, but it soon became clear that something was amiss.

These wolves were beyond powerful, and it was becoming increasingly challenging to hold our ground in the face of their relentless onslaught.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure we were going to win.

CHAPTER 32

Kaci

My wolf was a freakinggoddess.

Not only did I have the prettiest silver fur, but my strength and agility were off the charts. When I leapt to the side, I cleared at least six feet, and when I jumped forward, I could bound clean over a table. It was exhilarating and practically felt like I was defying gravity.

With every move, I reveled in the power and grace of my wolf form. My instincts were razor-sharp, and I moved with an unbridled sense of freedom, embracing the pure, unadulterated wildness that came with it. It was as if I had tapped into an ancient, primal energy. I knew that the word ‘queen’ had been thrown around lately, but I truly felt like the queen of our pack.

As a rogue wolf lunged at me, I instinctively rolled to the side, narrowly evading its snapping jaws. My instincts guided my every move as I countered with a swift, unexpected strike. With a fluid grace, I lunged upwards and brought my powerful hind legscrashing down on the rogue’s back, driving it to the ground with a resounding thud.

The rogue wolf sprang back to its feet with a menacing growl. I locked onto its eyes, a feral challenge passing between us, before I pounced forward with a burst of power. My teeth sank into its shoulder, and the wolf yelped in pain, its struggling futile against my relentless grip. The powerful muscles in my jaw allowed me to exert crushing force, and a sickening crack resounded through the air. The rogue’s body went limp.

Ry and Caelum rushed to my side.

“Nice moves, sweet cheeks,”Ry murmured, and I snarled quietly in disapproval, but I was pretty proud of myself, too.

I deserved a little praise every now and then.

The rogue wolves were cunning and relentless, their attacks calculated and precise. The room reverberated with growls and snarls as we clashed with our adversaries, neither side yielding an inch. The tension in the air was palpable, and it was impossible to discern who would emerge as the victor in this brutal, high-stakes battle.

Still, we fought, throwing all of ourselves into it.

Together, the three of us acted as a synchronized unit. As another rogue wolf lunged, we struck as one, our movements mirroring each other’s. Ry and Caelum flanked the rogue, each taking an agile leap to either side, effectively trapping the wolf while I took center stage.

I lunged forward, my jaws snapping at the rogue’s throat. Caelum and Ry formed an imposing wall, preventing any escape. With an orchestrated and well-timed effort, we took out the wolf together.

And I have to say, it was more than us working together.

I felt every fucking heartbeat of my whole pack. I knew where they were, I knew how they felt, I knew what they were focused on. I could hear them, but more than that, I could feel them.
