“Is something wrong?” I ask, with a nervous swallow.
“Since we’reallin the room together...” Emery begins. “Forgive me if I out you, sweetheart, but I think Bernadette’s open to something more permanent.”
“You are, baby?” Ash sounds so hopeful.
It’s time for me to open up.
“If I don’t get my designs from Michael, I have nothing to offer Stella. I was her right-hand person at one time, but she’s grown her business without me this past year, like Ford pointed out. And if I’m blocked, and can’t design...” I stumble into a chair. “She has no use for me. I don’t expect her to pay me to do nothing. If I move there empty-handed, I’ll have no job and no place to live.”
“You have a place to live with me for as long as you need.” Ford’s deep, possessive voice settles low in my tummy, warm and delicious.
“Until we all figure something else out,” Ash says. “Victoria offered you a job on the spot.”
“We’ve only known each other for a couple of weeks,” I say, feeling overwhelmed. “I’m staying with Ford. Not living with him. Not...sharing a bedroom with him.”
“You can change that anytime you want, sugar,” he whispers in my ear.
God, he’s so handsome, it’s insane. This is insane.
“There’s no lock on my bedroom door,” I tease him, then glance at Ash and Emery.
This is a little harder than it looks, keeping three men satisfied with not just my body but equal attention.
“I consider myself seeing all of you. And I don’t want to tilt the scales in anyone’s favor. I truly like you all equally. Iwantyou all equally.”
Emery glances at Ash, then Ford. “I’ve never shared a woman with a man in bed.”
“Do you have something against getting naked in front of us?” Ash asks him, and it sounds like flirting.
“I’ll get naked if it’s in the service of our beautiful Bernadette, but I’ll need some time to work up to bumping cocks with another guy.” Emery wipes a bead of sweat from his brow. “Let alone two.You two, especially.”
We stand silent, looks drifting between all of us. I swear, Ifeelsomething passing through my soul. I hoped to find one soul mate, looks like I found three.
Ash slaps his hands together and rounds the desk to stand on the other side of me.
“Looks like we’re all on the same page.” He lays a sexy kiss on me. “You’reours, baby.”
“And how will this work?” Emery asks, looking worried. “I already have limited time for Bernadette. I won’t wait in line and be alone.”
The force in his voice sends shivers through me. But it’s the vulnerability that shows a weakness I never expected.
“I won’t let you wait in line, Emery.” I reach across the desk to hold his hand.
He squeezes and kisses it.
“Sounds like we have a plan.” Ford grips my hip. “Can I talk to Bernadette alone about the case?”
I hate saying goodbye to them, but I amble back to Emery.
“You have that business dinner. The reservation is made.”
“I was hoping you’d come with me.”
“Honestly, without underwear, I’m leaking like crazy,” I whisper, pinning my legs together. “I need to go home and change.”
“You’re adorable.” He pecks me on the forehead. “Next time, just let me know, and I’ll lick you clean.”
Ash scuffles a laugh. “Classy.”
