He sat back against the headboard, his mouth sweeping from one sweet breast to the other as he guided her up and down his length, not letting her stop when she fell over into bliss again. He held her tighter, his hips thrusting up, fucking her through it as she held him tighter to her breasts. His need was rushing up on him again, nearly blinding him with it.

He moved them until she was laying down again, her legs wrapped tight around him, and he let go of the last thread of control. His cock pistoning in and out, harder and faster, as her legs wrapped tighter around him. “Give it to me, baby. You know it belong to me. You belong to me.”

“Avery!” she shouted, bucking up into his thrust, her walls gripping him like a vise, milking him as she toppled once more.

“I love you, baby,” he whispered softly, stealing little kisses as they shook, his heart soaring when she whispered it back as she fell asleep, tight against him.

Chapter 9

Avery slipped up behind Colleen as she checked the food, his arms sliding around her, drawing her back into his body. “I don’t know how you make everything smell so fucking delicious, baby.”

“Well, maybe it’s just me you smell,” she teased, letting him have her weight, completely content. It wasn’t likely to last long, for the moment though, it felt perfect.

“Could be,” he said, a soft laugh falling from his lips, because nothing on earth smelled better than she did. Her scent was like a drug and after four years without it, he was entirely ready to be a slave to it, and her. He brushed her hair from her neck, dropping soft kisses along it, grateful that she was here with him—both her and Tommy, and hell, he was even okay with Meredith here.

He truly only made the offer of the apartment to her knowing how close she and Colleen were, how she had helped with Tommy since he was born and wasn’t going to be a total ass and push her entirely aside. That would just make Colleen resent him and hurt Tommy. That was something he’d never do. Shit, hurting that sweet boy would be the lowest of lows, somewhere he’d never go.

In the last week though, he’d discovered why Colleen liked her. Her sense of humor, attitude, as well as her insistence of not letting Colleen run from her feelings—even if they were pushing her deeper and deeper towards him, was something he could admire. Sure, there’d been a moment here and there where they butted heads, but for the most part, she was becoming a friend as well. She still gave him absolute shit for pushing Colleen away from him four years ago, but he deserved it, would gladly take it if it meant Colleen was with him again.

“Are you sure you want to do this today?” he asked, his phone buzzing, notifying him of someone at the gate.

“It’s better we do it now than put it off any longer. It’s not going to be any easier to do it two weeks from now and I don’t want to hide Tommy.”

“Neither do I, baby,” he said, giving her a quick kiss before opening the gate for his father to pull through as he headed towards the front door. He stopped on the top step as his father pulled up on the driveway, giving them a nod as the group exited the car.

“Avery where are we?” his mom asked, reaching him first. His sisters and dad were looking over the house a bit more than she had, and he smiled at the curious looks on their faces.

“My new place,” he told them, chuckling at the expressions on his sisters’ faces as their jaws dropped. “The penthouse wasn’t a home, this one is, especially with the woman I love with me,” he added as Colleen slid into his hold.

“Colleen! What…when…I…” his mom stuttered and he laughed, ushering the group into the place, keeping Colleen in his hold to stop his mom from pulling her into a hug she might not be ready for yet.

“Are you serious?” Alana asked when they settled into the living room, taking in the furniture in even more surprise.

“You’re back together?” Addison added her eyes bouncing back and forth between them as they settled into the couch together.

“Yes,” Avery said, dropping a kiss onto Colleen’s temple, smiling as the others watched her eyes flutter shut, a sweet sigh falling from her lips. “I know you all probably have a lot of questions, and honestly, I know I will never be able to make it up to Colleen, but she’s given me a chance to show her just how much I love her.”

“Oh, you better believe we have questions,” Alana said, laughing in shock as she looked at her sister who nodded. “I mean…she’s a saint to take you back after you cheated on her, let alone forgive you for lying to all of us and claiming she left you.”

“Well, about that,” Avery began, his fingers slipping into Colleen’s looking to her to see if she truly was ready for this.

“You all aren’t the only ones he lied to,” Colleen stated, getting through the worst of it without breaking down as Avery held onto her.

“Oh, my sweet girl,” Julia said, her arms wrapping around her, pulling her towards her in a gentle hug. “I’m so sorry, I can’t even…I’m so sorry.”

Colleen nodded, blinking hard to try and stop the tears that hit at the love and remorse she felt in the hug. She sat back as Julia gently cupped her face, the tears in her eyes nearly Collen’s undoing, but she held it together as Avery held her tighter.

“I…a couple months after, I realized I was pregnant,” she told them, drawing choked gasps from the group and Julia held her hand tightly. “I couldn’t get rid of the baby, and I spent a lot of time praying the baby was Avery’s, even if I swore I hated him, it was easier to tell myself it was his.”

“But now you know it wasn’t,” Julia said, and she nodded, dragging in a shuddering breath to finish.

“He might not be Tommy’s biological father, but he’s become his dad.”

“You kept the baby?” Addison asked as Julia’s eyes widened with hope and delight.

“I fell in love with him entirely while carrying him. I still worried I’d feel differently when he was born, but the second I looked at him, all I saw was the sweetest, most innocent little being that needed me, to love him, protect him. He was mine,” she said, resting her head on Avery’s shoulder as he pressed a kiss to her forehead.

“One look at his face and he had me wrapped around his finger, entirely in love with him the same way it was with his mama,” Avery added. “I will protect him however necessary, so if you can’t understand that, you can leave right now. No one is going to hurt them ever again.”
