Her eyes widen. "OMG! You look so good, love!"

I laugh and play with my new bangs. "You like it?"

She's visibly excited. "Girl, you're gonna cause traffic jams with that look!"

I burst into laughter at her joke. "Lily, you're hilarious! I just can't with you."

Then she gets a bit more serious. "So, tell me everything about Nashville. I'm all ears."

I take a quick peek at Marissa, who's preoccupied chatting with the hairdresser. We've become good friends, but I haven't filled her in on the whole story with Weston. She's still under the impression that the kiss was just a mistake caused by too much tequila.

"Marissa, I'm just stepping out for a second," I say.

She gives me a quick nod. "Sure thing," she responds, turning back to her conversation with the hairdresser.

As I step outside the salon, I can't help but chuckle seeing Lily's pouty face on my phone screen. "What's up, Lil?"

She looks a bit worried. "You're not gonna replace me with Marissa, right? You'd tell me if you had a new best friend, wouldn't you?"

I laugh at how dramatic she's being as I slide into the driver's seat of my car, needing some privacy.

"Lily, you're like my sister. Nobody's gonna replace you."

"Okay, good," she says, then quickly adds, "So, what happened on the trip?"

I take a deep breath, realizing we haven't caught up in a while. "Alright, here it goes. Weston and I... we hooked up," I admit.

Her eyes nearly pop out of her head. "No flipping way! seriously?"

I grin, thinking back to that night. "Yes, seriously."

"I'm glad to hear that considering..." her voice trails off, and I sense she was going to mention Leo, but then she redirects the conversation. "Well, how was it? I want all the details."

I laugh. "Oh, if I started telling you everything, we'd be talking all day," I say, remembering several rounds of the best sex of my life. "But trust me, it was incredible."

She grins. "Alright, but what's going on with you guys now?"

I glance away, feeling a bit down. "We agreed to leave what happened in Nashville, in Nashville."

She frowns, confused. "Really?"

I nod in response. "As amazing as it was with Weston, I'm hesitant to keep playing with fire. Plus, I have to go back to California in less than five months." I can't risk another heartbreak especially when I'm still healing from the first one.

Lily nods understandingly. "It's good you're taking care of yourself and not rushing into anything," she says.

"Yeah," I say with a small smile. "It's bittersweet."

She smiles. "Hey, at least you've got some fun Nashville memories!"

I laugh. "That's true. But I should get back to Marissa. She'll be wondering where I've disappeared to."

"Alright. Look after yourself, Quinn."

"I will. Thanks, Lily."

Monday rolls around and I dive deep into work. Ever since coming back, I've been keeping it professional with Weston.Again.Our one-night stand was supposed to be a way to get each other out of our systems, but I can't help thinking about him. I keep telling myself it doesn't matter; he's my boss, and this is a business trip. I need to focus on the job.

Suddenly, there's a knock on my office door.
