I nod in agreement and, as I hear footsteps coming down the hallway leading toward the stairs, I try to force myself to calm down the anger that had risen at the thought of what she’d been through.

As they round the corner, I freeze as my Wildcat comes into view. She’s dressed in a semi-tight-fitting t-shirt with a respectable v-cut. Her jeans mold to her curves perfectly, and she has on her black riding boots. Her curly red hair is loose and her green eyes light up when she sees both of us. Sasha clears her throat, and I shake myself.

“Do you girls want coffee now or to wait till we get over to the clubhouse for breakfast?”

“Need coffee before meeting????? ??????a,” Sasha grumbles before winking at Levi and heads over to the coffeepot.

Levi bites her lip as she tries to hide her smile, and she blushes when she looks over at us. I shake my head and get up, kissing her temple before getting out the creamer and sugar. I’ll ask later what she said, but I have a pretty good guess as to what it meant.

“Not sure how you like your coffee, but here’s some creamer and sugar. If there’s something specific you like, just let us know and we’ll have the prospects get it on the next grocery run.”

Levi shakes her head but grabs a mug off the hook before filling it and sitting down without adding anything to it.

Huh. Would not have guessed she liked it black. Sasha, on the other hand, pours in so much creamer that I’m wondering how much coffee is even in the mug. After adding a couple cubes of sugar, she sits down next to Levi.

“So, what’s on the agenda today?” Levi asks.

“We’ll head over to the clubhouse for breakfast and afterward, we can show you all around. We have Church later at ten.”

Nick pauses when we both notice Levi tensing up. She knows we’re going to have to talk about the threats. He quickly looks over at me and clears his throat. “After Church, we’re pretty open, so we can help with looking for cameras and move your stuff upstairs to your room. There is a party at the clubhouse later tonight.”

Levi tenses even further at the mention of the party and if I have to guess, it’s because of the bunnies. She takes a deep breath and Sasha grabs her free hand, squeezing it lightly. Levi hesitantly looks up at us.

“Am I going to have to repeat what happened to your brothers?”

Her voice is strong, but I still catch the waver in it. Instantly, we both shake our heads.

“No Wildcat, you don’t have to if you don’t want to. We can share the details with them if you want us to. We do have to give them some details about what happened so that they know what to prepare for, but if there are parts that you don’t want to share, we won’t.”

Nick nods in agreement. “We can give the cliff note version if you would prefer.”

Levi relaxes slightly, but after a moment, she shakes her head as her jaw hardens.

“As much as I’d like to keep some things left unsaid, I don’t want anyone to get hurt when you all go after Fang and his club. You can tell them everything. It’s best if they know what they’re capable of.” A shudder runs through her before her face hardens further and her eyes fill with rage. “Make sure they understand Fang is mine to kill, and I get a hand in torturing all four of those bastards for what they’ve done to me.”

We both nod, even though I know neither of us like it. While I don’t want to add to her nightmares, I understand her need for closure. But killing a person changes you. I just hope she’ll be okay if she really does go through with it.

Sasha clears her throat and grins as she looks at both Nick and me. “So, are you three an item then?”

She wiggles her eyebrows at Levi, who blushes beat red, and I swear I see a tinge of pink on Nick’s cheeks. We both look over at Levi and smile. Even with having a few reservations, I still want to pursue a relationship with her. Last night I was already feeling an insane protectiveness toward her and want to make sure no one harms her ever again. Levi smiles shyly at us before turning toward Sasha.

“Yeah, we are.”

Sasha squeals and wraps Levi in a hug. My grin widens at her words and a weird feeling tugs in my chest. Shaking it off, I glance at Nick. The skin around his eyes seems a bit tight as he rubs his chest, but his grin never wavers as he looks at Levi. Maybe he’s feeling the same thing? As Sasha turns back toward us, her eyes narrow, and I have a feeling she’s silently reminding us of her threat.

I place our mugs in the sink, figuring I’ll wash them later. Turning back toward the group, I pause when I see Levi staring at the sink with a weird expression on her face. Walking over to her, I pull her in for a hug, needing to touch her.

“What’s wrong, Spitfire?”

She shakes herself slightly before frowning as her gaze goes back to the sink. “Um, don’t take this the wrong way, but who cleans your house?”

I pause, not expecting that question from her. Understanding dawns on me in an instant before I smile down at her. “Thor and I do. We do our own laundry, too. Same as cooking if we aren’t at the clubhouse. No bunnies are allowed in here and they know they aren’t allowed in here.”

My thoughts instantly sour as I think back to a few months ago. I try to shake off the feeling and my anger, but it’s too late. A dark shadow crosses her face and I sigh.

“We might as well tell her, Dragon. She’s gonna find out soon enough, and it’s better to have her hear it from us rather than from someone who wouldn’t tell her the full truth.”

Levi stiffens in my arms, and I notice Sasha bristling, but neither says anything as their gazes dart between us. Thor leans against the island and we both sigh heavily. Thankfully, he starts speaking because I’m barely containing the rage in me right now.
