Sasha coming and dealing with Luscious.

Me getting in a few swings at Luscious and Sasha showing me how to throw a punch correctly.

Sitting down and watching a movie with Erik and Mama Astrid.

Then I frown. I remember getting up to go to the restroom, but then... nothing.

An unfamiliar muffled voice from the next room has my eyes flying open, despite the harsh light. Panic starts to set in when I realize I’m tied down to a bed spread eagle. I still have my clothes on, but since I’m spread out, there’s no way for me to stop them from removing them.

Wiggling, I can feel the bracelets Levi gave me shifting against the rope and my skin, but with how I’m tied up, I’m not able to make use of them.

The voice comes closer and ice runs down my spine.

It’s the douche canoe from the grocery store.

Carter.

It’s then that I remember him and another guy grabbing me after I walked out of the bathroom. I had planned to head back to the main room and I kick myself for not being more aware of my surroundings, but I thought I was safe in the clubhouse. I never thought someone would be able to sneak in.

A gasp escapes as I remember what happened next.

I felt something prick my skin on the back of my neck right as Mama Astrid rounded the corner. The other guy hit her across the head with the butt of his gun. I tried to yell out and get to her, but then everything went black.

Panic seizes me again. Please let Mama Astrid be okay!

“Yeah, we got her,” Carter says and then pauses. I can hear him getting mad at whoever is on the phone as he huffs and paces, his steps getting louder and louder. “Don’t forget our deal,” he seethes. “Iwillget my revenge andthenyou can have her.”

He growls and I jump, well as much as I can, when I hear something fall to the ground, breaking. He stomps over to the door to the room I’m in and I’m surprised that I can hear him breathing heavily through the door. If he comes in here already spitting nails, then it’s not going to end well for me.

Fear seeps in even more at what he must have planned for me if my position and restraints are anything to go by.

I release a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding when it sounds like he’s heading into another part of the house.

A few minutes later, the sound of something else heavy hitting the wall and breaking reverberates through the house.

“Where the fuck is she? She was supposed to be here by now,” Carter says, his tone cold and hard.

“Maybe those assholes caught onto her. I knew we should have never used her to do this,” another man says. Just going off of his voice, he sounds older than Carter... and almost hesitant? Maybe if I got him alone, I could convince him to let me go?

“She got us in since that bitch hasn’t stepped foot outside after I saw her yesterday. She’ll pay for publicly embarrassing me and threatening my business.”

“Just remember, it’s not your business yet, and I won’t tolerateanyonedisrupting my business,” the other guy replies harshly.

I swallow thickly. Ooookay, maybe that wasn’t hesitancy in his voice earlier. And did they really kidnap me just because I turned down Carter and said I was going to tell Kai and Reaper not to use him or his dad as their doctor?

A chill runs down my spine. If they’re that put off by that, then I wonder exactly how dangerous these men really are.

Futtenfarter...

What if they’ve done this to someone else before?

Trying to tamp down my panic, I look around the room I’m in. There’s a small closet, but it looks completely empty from what I can see. Other than the bed and a chair that’s in the corner, there’s no other furniture.

My gaze snags on a small window, the only window in the room, which is a few inches above ground level near the ceiling of the room. That must mean I’m in the basement. But if I can manage to get free, maybe I can crawl through it and escape. Since I’m so skinny, I shouldn’t have any problems fitting through it. Yeah, I’m sure I’ll have some scratches, especially around my chest and butt since my starvation seems to have not affected those areas much, but the scratches will be worth it if I can escape.

It looks near sunset, but there’s no way to tell if it’s still the same day or not.

Tilting my head up, I start wiggling my right arm, trying to loosen the ropes. If I can get one of my hands free, I can get to the hidden blade in my bracelet.
