“Is that fair if you used to compete and your brothers and sister have also trained for years? Doesn’t that weigh the odds too much in your club’s favor?”

Laughter once again rings out at my question.

“A little bit, but when Reaper stayed here a few months back, Levi worked with him a lot and then he passed on her training to his club. Plus, there were a few times we went to Reaper’s clubhouse, and same for them coming here. Each time, Levi, Alexei, and I work with everyone as well,” Sasha says.

Dark looks cross both her and Levi’s faces for a moment before they’re masked. Wonder what that was about?

Levi shakes her head as she clears her throat. “Doing the competition by club was what was voted for the most by everyone, so that’s what we’re doing. We’ll keep going until there’s one person left. The guys all want to make this a reoccurring thing, so there’s a main trophy that will get passed from winner to winner each time. The winner will also get a blade engraved with the Steel Archangel’s logo and today’s date that they’ll get to keep as a souvenir.

We’re interrupted by a child’s squeal and when I turn to see who it is, I can’t stop my smile.

“Mae!” Jordan yells as he runs toward me.

I slide off Timber’s lap, much to his unhappiness, and kneel down on the ground, opening my arms to catch Jordan. Giving him a tight hug, I go to release him, but his arms stay wrapped around me. Repositioning my arms around him, I pick him up as I stand, and he wraps his legs around my waist.

“I was hoping we’d see you here,” Jordan says as he buries his head in my neck.

“I missed you too, little man.” Giving him a squeeze, I look up, smiling at Susie. “Good to see you again, Susie.”

“Same,” she says as she steps closer. “How did it go?” she whispers, and immediately I feel my body sag.

“Not the best. I’ll tell you later,” I whisper back, and she nods, offering me a small smile. Jordan pulls away and makes a funny face at me, which has me laughing despite my nerves. Making a funny face of my own, we both laugh and I lower him down to the ground. He’s immediately by Sadie’s side in an instant and soon the pair dissolves into talk about bikes and showing each other their boots.

Smiling, I turn toward Susie just as Timber comes back with another chair for her.

“Good to see you again, Susie,” Timber says as he sets her chair down and a squeak escapes me when he tugs me back into his lap.

“Timber!”

“What? I like you in my arms, Sunshine.”

My cheeks heat at his words and Susie winks at me. I think I really am going to be a tomato for the rest of the afternoon.

“Seems like you’ve snagged yourself a biker, Mae.” She grins at me, and I can’t help the butterflies in my stomach.

“We’re taking it slow. We only just met today, and I don’t want to rush into anything.” I keep off the part that I’d never been with anyone before or that I had my first kiss today. They don’t need to know that.

“You never know. I heard that Levi came here one day and the next, both Thor and Dragon claimed her as their woman,” she says.

My eyes bug out at that, and I look at Levi in surprise, who’s just smiling as if she’s remembering it.

“Yeah, I had some reservations about being tied to a club because of my history, but even after hearing the things that I went through, they still wanted to be with me. Similar to you, I decided to just try and I am so grateful that I did, because I love both of them. And now, they’ve given me these twin babies, who I can’t wait to meet!”

Her hands caress her baby bump, and I can’t help but smile, hoping that someday, I’ll get to be a mother as well.

We’re interrupted again, but this time by an ear-piercing whistle. I look around, trying to find the person behind the sound. I don’t have to look too hard to see Thor and his twin, Dragon, standing close together, their gazes trained on Levi. Without a word, Levi rises and walks over to them, giving them both a kiss.

“Is everyone ready to find out what we’re having?” Thor asks and the crowd cheers in response.

The trio turns to two men who are sitting nearby on dirt bikes.

“Alright, Ethan. Show us if baby A is a girl or a boy!” Thor shouts.

Ethan, the Prospect who I talked to at the gate earlier, nods at him and fires up his dirt bike. Pink smoke plumes out of the exhaust pipe and everyone erupts in cheers. Levi and Sasha share a look as they give each other thumbs up. I’m surprised to see Timber doing the same.

“Please let it be another girl,” Timber whispers, crossing his fingers as he peeks around me to gesture to Sasha and Nikki, who also raise their crossed fingers.

That’s right—all of them were for team girl for both babies. Though I am curious as to why Timber wants both babies to be girls. You would think he’d be for boys so they could join the club when they’re older. No—wait. They just voted to allow women to patch in, so it can’t be that. Maybe it’s tormenting the fathers? To be able to tease them about all the future boys that will want to date their daughters. On second thought, that’s probably the reason.
