“We’ve got two more rounds and then we’ll go into the finals. First up is Wildcat and Punisher. Then Alexei will go against Reaper. Good luck.”
As Levi steps up to her spot, Thor pulls her flush against her and kisses her passionately. My cheeks heat at watching them so in love. When he pulls back, he bends down and kisses her stomach twice before stepping back near Patch.
My gaze goes to Dragon and I frown at how strained his face is. I wonder how much he heard of Smoke’s hateful words earlier in the bathroom. Judging by how hard his face was in that hallway compared to when I saw him earlier in the afternoon, I’m afraid he heard all of it. Will he vote against helping me because of what Smoke said, even though everything he said was a lie?
I shake my head, pushing those thoughts out of my mind for now. If I let myself focus on that, I’ll spiral, and I don’t want to break down here in front of everyone. Plus, there’s still a few more pages in Mom’s journal that I need to read through.
I stiffen, remembering my promise to Peggy.
