As soon as we step into the first store, the ladies pull me toward the racks and I try my best not to look at the price tags. I knew I was going to have to get new clothes when we got here, but I wasn’t planning to go to the mall. Levi had called it earlier. I was planning to go to the thrift stores first to see what I could get for cheap.

Browsing through the racks, I pick out a few shirts and tank tops, getting the size Sasha had grabbed for my other shirts. Walking over to the jeans, I feel a little lost. There’re so many styles of jeans that I’m not sure which to go with. Feeling overwhelmed, I decide to just stick with skinny jeans for now since that’s what Sasha got me. I can always get different styles of jeans later when things settle down.

Grabbing three pairs in the size Sasha got me, I turn and feel the blood drain from my face.

All five of the women, and yes I’m also including Sadie, have clothes in their arms.

“Um... I hope that means you all are getting clothes for yourselves, too. Right?” I lick my lips nervously. I cannot spendthatmuch money on clothes. While I’d avoided looking at the prices on the shirts, it couldn’t be ignored on the pants. They’re $70 a piece.

Levi shakes her head. “I’ve already talked to the saleslady, and she has a dressing room set up for you. Try on your things first and we’ll give you a few more to try on. But you have to come out and show us everything.”

Taking a deep breath, I decide not to fight her on this. Just because I try them on doesn’t mean I’ll be buying them. Looking over my shoulder, I chew on my lip as my gaze finds Timber. He nods in encouragement, and I slowly nod in return.

I can’t believe I’m doing this.

Following the ladies further toward the back of the store, I stop at the entrance of the fitting rooms, my eyes wide.

Off to one side, there’s a changing area, but there’s also a few seats around a small table. There’s also mirrors out here where I can get a better look at the outfits. Ducking my head, I make a beeline for the dressing room door.

Once it’s shut and locked, I strip out of my shoes, shirt, and jeans before trying on the first outfit. Turning in the mirror, I love how I feel wearing it. The jeans fit me like a glove. The shirt is a fitted short-sleeved shirt, dark purple with a v-neck that shows a fair amount of cleavage.

My worries come back as I stare at my revealed skin. I could always wear a tank-top under it to reduce the peep show. I’ve never liked to draw attention to myself and I feel like I would if I don’t cover up a bit more with this shirt. That and I don’t know what Timber would think about me showing so much skin. Quickly, I take the shirt off, slip on a white tank top and put the shirt back on.

That’s better.

“Get out here, girl! We want to see everything!” Nikki shouts.

Shaking my head, I open the door and instantly their faces light as they smile.

“That’s a keeper!” Susie says.

“You should wear that without the tank top. Timber would be all over you in an instant,” Sasha says as she wiggles her eyebrows at me.

My cheeks heat and I turn around and flee back into the dressing room, the ladies laughing behind me.

Oh, my lanta.I think I may be in trouble if they’re going to be like this all day.

Somehow, I get through everything that the ladies had picked out for me. I’ve got everything from tank tops, t-shirts, a couple of blouses, a few nice sweaters, and jeans picked out.

I’ll need to make sure we stop somewhere where I can get some hoodies and a decent fall jacket. Mine barely keeps the wind out.

Grabbing my clothes, I make my way out of the dressing room to find the room empty. I shrug. Guess the ladies all went out front already.

As I approach the cash register, I freeze. The guys are all carrying a bunch of bags. My cheeks heat, but this time, it’s in embarrassment.

Timber’s instantly by my side, and I realize I’ve back pedaled in my shock. “What’s going on in that pretty head, Sunshine?”

Shaking my head, I can’t tear my gaze from the bags. “When I asked to go shopping, I wasn’t expecting charity. I don’t want charity. I was,am, going to pay for my own things. This is too much. They need to return them. It’s too much.”

My breath is coming faster and I’m sure I’m bright red from embarrassment. I didn’t want their pity. I’m not a charity case. I refuse to be. I just wanted help to pick out clothes that would fit and to hang out with them.

“Sunshine, no one pities you and you aren’t a charity case.”

Crap, I must have said that out loud.

“Yes, Sunshine, you said both of those things out loud.” He sets down his bags and cups my cheeks, making me look at him.

Pure love is shining out through his pale blue eyes and I inhale sharply from the intensity of it. I barely register someone taking the clothes from my arms and I immediately wrap them around Timber’s waist.
