I had been stewing in anger as I stared into my coffee mug. Instead of watching me, my gaze snaps to my niece and Jordan.

Fuck, the look of fear on their faces fucking guts me. I can’t believe I lost my shit so bad in front of them. Thank fuck the Prospects got them out of the room pretty quick. Then it feels like I’ve been sucker punched when I watch Mae interact with them before she came into Church.

Needing to finish, I fast-forward to when Timber escorted Mae out of Church. The look on her face is another sucker punch to the gut.

Needing to know more and not caring if Timber gets pissed at me later, I switch the feed back to his house and my heart breaks once again as Sadie and Jordan cuddle up on Mae’s lap as soon as she sits down on the couch. How she puts on a brave face for them, but when they fall asleep on her while watching a movie, I don’t miss the look of anguish and pain on her face before she closes her eyes.

It’s not too long after that that the guys and Levi join them after Church lets out and they head out to go shopping.

Groaning, I lean forward, resting my elbows on the desk and cradling my head in my hands, pulling on my hair. It’s something I’ve always done when I’m frustrated.

The feeling of dread hanging over me grows with each second that passes.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

What have I done?

A vibrating sound cuts through my thoughts and I look around for my phone, finding it on my nightstand. It’s a text from Axe.

Axe: Preston showed up at the mall. Don’t know who the two guys are that are with him. We’re going to pack up our stuff and make our way out to the SUV and bikes.

He includes a picture and my blood boils.

I recognize that fat fuck, Preston, right away. What pisses me off even more is that I also know who the other two assholes are as well. Fear snakes down my spine at what this could mean.

Instantly I get to work, pulling information on all three of them as I try to tamp down my anger. I can hit the gym later to work out my anger, but right now, I need to get as much information as I can. If the sick fuck is who I really think it is, then shit’s gonna hit the fan.

Even if she never forgives me for what I’ve done the past two days, I can at least do what I can to give my brothers as much of a heads up to keep Mae safe and out of that sick fuck’s hands.

Printing off what I can, I text Thor. We need to have Church.

Now.

Leaving my room, I lock the door and quickly make my way to the main room, grabbing a beer from the Prospect and heading straight into Church. Fuck, this has turned into a major clusterfuck.

My brothers quickly fill the room, but I notice quite a few are missing. Not counting Timber, it’s Punisher, Doc, Judge and Bear. They must have headed over to Levi’s when they heard everyone was coming in hot.

My knee bounces nervously, and I force myself to sit still. That’s always been one of my tics and I fucking hate it.

A few minutes later, the rest of the guys come in and I purposefully keep my gaze down. I know it’s a chickenshit move, but my mind is still a jumbled mess. I only have enough capacity to focus on these sick fuckers right now, otherwise I’m going to blow and that would most likely get my ass kicked out of the club.

Thor bangs his hammer and everyone quiets down.

“Alright. We all know Preston was spotted at the mall today. Axe snapped a picture of him and two others. Smoke, bring up the picture and tell us what you found out.”

Bringing them up and then pull out the papers I brought with me.

“The fat fuck in the middle is Preston Cole. To his right is his brother, Phillip Cole. He’s had multiple drug charges against him, but somehow, he either gets completely off the hook or just a slap on the wrist. My guess is he’s one of the guys supplying Preston with his drugs.

“To his left is Bruce Martin. Now he’s a seriously twisted sick fuck. He’s a known womanizer and beater. He also has ties to a gang, the Crimson Adders, who are linked to trafficking women and children. I’m still digging to try and find out more on the Crimson Adders because they have to be working with others to get the women and kids out.”

Curses ring out, and I can tell Timber’s made the connection first.

“You think they targeted Sunshine.”

It was a statement, not a question.

Nodding, but still not looking at him, I sigh. “Yes, but what I don’t get is that Bruce offered to pay for Mae instead of just taking her. Maybe he wants her for himself, but something doesn’t sit right about this.”
