"Let's think about it rationally. First of all, Lisa might be wrong. Does she have a proven record of guessing correctly?"

"I don't know. According to Mia, Lisa guessed correctly one other time, but she hasn't had the chance to do it enough times to establish her talent."

"So, there is also a chance that she's right," Dagor said. "And because she has a special sense for those things, she senses them before any symptoms manifest."

"I think that's what scares me the most. I don't want to lose consciousness while shit goes down in Acapulco. Are you going to fight with the clan?"

"Not if you are transitioning. I'll stay by your side."

"Thank you." Frankie let out a breath. "That's very comforting to me. But I still don't want to lose consciousness and miss out on all the weddings and not be there when Margo comes on board so I can introduce her to Negal."

He arched a brow. "Is that your plan?"

"Well, yes. How cool would it be if all three of us had boyfriends who were gods? But if she doesn't like Negal, which could happen even though he's a great guy, I can introduce her to Max, but if I'm out of it, who's going to do that?"

That was an easy problem to solve. "I'll do it. I'll introduce Margo to Negal."

"What if she doesn't like him?"

Dagor grimaced. "Then I'll introduce her to Max. Happy?"

Instead of answering, Frankie wound her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. "I love you," she murmured against his lips. "You are the absolute best."

"I know, and so are you. So, did I address all of your fears and objections?"

"Almost. I will still miss the weddings. The Clan Mother comes up with a unique address to each couple, and I don't want to miss that or the vows."

He rolled his eyes. "I'll take photos of all the wedding gowns and record the ceremonies and the vows for you."

"What about the dancing? I wanted to dance at the weddings."

"Unless you want to do it while unconscious, with me carrying you to the dance floor, I can't solve that objection."

Frankie affected a pout. "You're a god. You're supposed to be omnipotent."

She was adorable, and he loved her so much.

"I don't know about the omni, but I'm certainly potent." He lifted her off the stool and into his arms. "We have seven hours until we reach Acapulco, and I know how I want to spend them."

Holding on to his neck, Frankie laughed. "I like your plan. But how are we going to get to Acapulco so fast? We've been sailing for nearly fourteen hours, and I doubt the ship can double its speed."

"Don't ask me how." He carried her through the sliding doors and continued to the elevators. "Kian said that's how long it'sgoing to take, and I have no reason to doubt him. Still, seven hours is plenty of time."

Kian

Kian wrapped his arm around Syssi and Allegra and kissed their daughter's warm cheek. "I'm sorry for taking over the cabin."

"There is nothing to be sorry about. I was heading to your mother's cabin anyway. Allegra is more than happy to spend the day with her grandmother, and all your sisters will be there to celebrate Wonder's bachelorette party. Callie, Carol, and Aliya will be there too, and Okidu will be there to help with the little ones, although I doubt his services will be needed." She chuckled. "I bet Allegra's feet will not touch the ground while all the ladies satisfy their baby fix."

His mother had insisted on hosting the party for her oldest friend, but he doubted Anandur would get to celebrate his last day as a bachelor.

Kian would keep him on the ship, and at least half of the Guardian force would remain to guard the civilians, but they wouldn't be celebrating with whiskey and cigars while their friends were fighting Doomers.

Hopefully the bodies hadn't been discovered yet, so it wouldn't come to that. The Doomers would start getting suspicious when their cargo didn't arrive, but they would likely assume that a competing cartel had stolen the women and killed off their henchmen. The only way they could know that immortals had been involved was if they discovered the body parts that looked like they had been shredded to pieces by wild beasts.

The question was whether they should pursue the Doomers even if it wasn't necessary, and Kian was conflicted about that. If they chose to fight the Doomers, or if they were forced to do that, they would be lucky if the wedding happened at all.

"I hope we will not need to postpone the wedding. I would hate to disappoint Wonder. Anandur will pretend like it's not a big deal, but I know he will be disappointed as well."
