“Mr. Anderson asked me to...”

“Mr. Anderson isn’t here now, give me the keys!”

“Jewel, please come back inside let’s talk about this,” my mom pleads with me but I ignore her.

“Keys.”

My driver reluctantly hands me the keys and I grab it from them from his hand. My mother continues to plead with me to come back inside but I ignore her.

I drive for about an hour without any destination in mind, ignoring my phone which kept buzzing with calls and notifications from my parents.

I finally park when I get to a beach and then burst into tears, how could my parents do this to me? All those times they kept saying that marrying Kyle was for my own good to save my reputation, it was all a lie!

Not wanting to go back to the penthouse, I decided to stay back at the beach, until midnight.

Back to present

“I’m so sorry.” Kyle stretches out his arms and envelopes me in a warm hug. “Thanks,” I mumble into his shoulder inhaling his manly scent. We both pull apart when my phone starts to ring.

I hiss under my breath when I pick up my phone from my nightstand and see my mom is the one calling and I toss it on the bed not bothering to answer.

“I take it, that your parents are the ones calling?”

“My mom.” I sigh trying my best not to cry. “I really hate that they did that to me and my father isn’t remorseful about it.”

“I’m sure he feels sorry about it, he just doesn’t know how to show it.”

“Whatever. I no longer want to talk about it.” I pick up my phone and turn it off when it won’t stop ringing. I paste a smile on my face when I look up and find Kyle staring at me.

“I’m sorry that we couldn’t go out to have dinner as we had planned yesterday.”

Kyle takes the tray that’s between us and place it aside. He brings his finger to my chin gently raising my face to look at him. “You don’t have to be sorry; you have every right to be angry. What your parents did, was wrong.”

I heave a sigh. “Like I said, I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t want to waste the little time I have to spend with you before you go to work, talking about what will only make me sad.”

“Well, it’s a good thing that I’m not going to work today.”

“Are you serious? Why?”

“Because I can.” Kyle closes the tiny space between us and gives me a kiss on my lips.

A warm smile spreads across my face as he pulls away. “You looked like you needed a kiss,” he explains, smiling.

“You are right about that, and I still need a kiss right now.” I pull him by his shirt, drawing him closer as I seal my lips with his.

Kyle brings a hand to my neck gently caressing. I make a throaty groan when I feel his hand in my hair gently massaging my scalp.

When we both pull up for air, we are both breathless. “I really needed that.” I’m now grinning from ear to ear.

A grin makes its way to Kyle’s lips. “Do you know what else you need?”

I angle my neck to the side, still smiling. “I take it that you’re about to tell me?”

Kyle brings his lips to my right ear, and whispers, “a shower.”

I gasp because I didn’t see that coming but before I get the chance to say a word, he carries me out of bed in one swift move.

“Kyle, what are you doing?”
