This manic episode wasn’t the first I’d been through over the years, and I doubted it would be the last. I wasn’t sure if it was a Hollywood thing or a Noah thing. I didn’t know enough about the lifestyle these guys lived to make that call, and Kenzie was still chasing the dream to have fallen into the trap, so I had nothing for comparison. Just the man I’d stupidly allowed myself to love for the past five years.

Bodhi directed me out to the deck when we finally pulled up at the Malibu house while he took my bags upstairs to the bedroom I’d be sharing with Noah. The moment I stepped outside, I could see why Bodhi had been concerned. Noah stared down at his phone. Treading a path into the decking next to the pool, he typed and deleted, and then typed some more. The cool breeze from the Pacific Ocean washed over him, teasing his hair into a frenzied mess that suited his mood. He hadn’t even noticed my arrival.

“What? No hello?” I asked, leaning on the railing of the middle balcony with a small smile.

Noah’s blue eyes found me quickly, his smile breaking free and spreading over his face. Pushing his phone into his pocket, he jogged up the steps and swept me into his arms, warm lips meeting mine in greeting while his arms tightened around me, dragging my body against his in the same frenetic fashion he’d been pacing.

“Would you hate me if I took you upstairs and fucked you senseless?” he asked, hands sliding to my ass and squeezing roughly. “I need to feel you surrounding me.”

“How can I turn down an offer like that?”

Noah’s throaty laugh was enough of a response. Tilting my head, he took it as the invitation it was. One bend of his knees, and I found myself over his shoulder as he took the stairs up to the upper floor balcony and through the accordion doors to his bedroom.

We didn’t make love—we never really had, not in all the time we’d been together. It was always frantic and needy. Hands stroking, teeth nipping, sweat beading as we came together, rugged and needful. We filled the room with the sounds of sawed breaths and euphoric moans, finding the sweet spots we’d discovered on previous explorations of one another’s bodies. We both collapsed together in a pile of sweat-dampened limbs and exhausted sighs, hands still stroking and breaths raw as we sought more oxygen.

“Fuck me, I missed you, Elmer.”

I rolled onto my back and watched the billowing of the long white material covering the windows, my heart beating wildly in my chest. Noah followed me, his cheek pressing into my stomach while his fingers traced a pattern over my hip.

“I missed your dick.”

He pinched me, making me squirm enough that I found my body half-concealed below him once again. My laughter echoed around the cavernous bedroom before it was eaten up by the swish of fabric and crashing of waves beyond the open doors. Noah settled against me again, the restlessness nowhere to be found now he’d used most of his energy in an impressive display of stamina.

“You have no idea how much I needed that.”

“You flew me out here to fuck you when you could have picked up a superfan down on sunset?” I teased, running my fingers through his hair as I watched the shadows dancing above us.

“You think I could do that with just anyone?” His hands roamed again, fingers easing over the seam between thighs and pussy. “You’re the only one who can keep up with me, baby.”

“You’re such a liar.”

Turning his head, Noah kissed my stomach and shifted his body between my liquid thighs, lifting them over his shoulders with a small smile. “I could fill every hole and you’d still beg for more.”

I let out a small laugh. “Let’s not test that theory.”

He captured my eyes with his and slipped his index finger inside me. Teasing, he took his time, his stroke measured and too gentle to provide much friction, yet my blood heated regardless, my body sinking into the mattress as my hips rose, seeking more.

“I could do this for hours,” he said, stroking the spot inside me he’d found our first night together, making my hips jerk and roll, silently begging for more.

“But you won’t.”

He withdrew his finger, slipping it between his lips and making a show of it. “No. I won’t. I’m hungry, and not just for you.”

“Damn.”

Noah blasted me with his full smile again, and he raised his eyebrows in a way that told me I’d amused him. “So greedy.”

We orderedtakeout and sat on the deck, watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. The purples and reds blended with the dark blue of the impending night, making the clouds look as though they were scattering. I would never get used to the beauty of this no matter how many evenings I sat here watching the sun drop below the ocean. The company had a lot to do with it. Sexually satisfied and hunger sated, Noah was calm and relaxed behind me. The oversized circular cabana chair was big enough for us both to curl up in, and we didn’t move from the spot, even when the mood struck him again. We’d never been shy, but it was a risk fucking out in the open when so many people wanted an image of him that would sell tabloids for days.

We compromised by covering our bodies with a blanket, falling asleep under the stars, satisfied in every way. Though generating our own heat worked for a while, the chilly air eventually chased us inside, where we collapsed together on his bed.

“When are you going to move to LA to be with me?” Noah asked after a long stretch of silence. I thought he’d fallen asleep as I traced the long veins in his muscular forearms.

“You don’t want that.”

“What makes you so sure?”

“You’re Noah Jennings: the international playboy. Hollywood hunk. Every woman’s dream and fantasy.”
