Page 10 of Saving Becky

“I thought we had discussed that you could go another time.”

“Discussed but not decided. Ivy texted and said we were meeting tonight. Jessie won’t feel like doing this for much longer.”

“Rebecca...”

“Carter, I’m not a child. You don’t want kids, remember? You can’t Daddy me when you want to. When you make up your mind about us and our dynamic, let me know.”

His low rumble sent shivers up her spine. She was so into this man and his dominant ways. She was doomed but a girl had to try to get her thinking through.

“You know better than that, and we will talk about this subject tonight because you will be home.”

“Sorry, gotta go. We’ll talk later this weekend if you like, but I can’t stop now to hear the same old, tired song.”

“Becky.”

She cut him off. Her heart was pounding, and her bottom cheeks were clenched. She could feel her channel flood. He was trying to Daddy her by the sound of his voice. The man was such a gentle soul, but her cuddly man could change to a chastising grizzly bear and take charge of her in a heartbeat. If he would. Was he leaning that way now? Was he ready to resume their lifestyle? If so, defiance would put him over the edge.

Carter loved her. She knew that. The problem was he loved her but didn’t want to share his deepest secrets with her. Time to find out why. This weekend, he said. She imagined she’d be sitting gingerly, but the conversation was necessary, and they needed it to move on.

Becky dressed for the weather that had stayed at a balmy thirty for the day and was now already twenty-six and dropping. She put on her extra warm boots and hat with matching scarf and gloves that Carter had bought her in four colors.

“I don’t want to see you in this weather without them all on. Understood? It is a spanking offense.”

There were many spanking offenses, and while they didn’t seem to have bothered her before because she knew her Daddy loved her, they seemed to be pushing all her buttons right now. Still, she wasn’t a stupid woman and staying warm was also her priority.

Her mom called just as she had put on her gloves.

“Mom, are you okay?”

“What, of course dear. I just wanted to check on you.”

“Sorry but could I call you back? I am getting ready to go to a get-together. I’m running late.”

“Well, if you are going alone, don’t forget to get an Uber so you can enjoy yourself and have a few drinks. Let your hair down.”

Becky laughed. “I was going to. Talk tomorrow, okay?”

“Okay, dear. Have a good time.”

Becky had called an Uber before her mom had called but she liked someone on her side about it. She just needed a ride to Ivy’s place about a mile away because she wanted to enjoy the night, not show up too tired to join in by walking it. She expected to drink so driving was not an option. And she was tired. Almost weary. What she wouldn’t give for her and Carter to work this mess out and stop having these little snipes and disagreements. It was breaking down their relationship, and she hated it. She was sad most of the time.

“Expecting some snow later tonight,” said the driver.

“Yes, so I hear.”

“I might be back to pick you up, then.”

“I doubt it. I usually have a ride from my friend’s place. I just didn’t want to drive in case I drank tonight. You know how it is.”

“I do.” He handed her his card since the trip had already been paid for online. “Just in case.”

And they were there. She wouldn’t tell anyone she called an Uber because Becky’s long driveway seemed half as long as the mile to Kaden and Ivy’s place. They would line up to take a swing at her ass for that. It was one of the things not allowed. Ever. Cabs either, for that matter. She liked that Carter had agreed on a house set back from the road. They’d chosen this house for privacy, and Becky decided she wanted it for the distance from the main road. Again, in the hope they would have children. Everything seemed to circle that one thing. It was hopeless. Ivy was standing at the door, waving her inside.

When Becky passed her, Ivy said, “I won’t tell, but call me next time.”

Such good friends.
