Great fucking timing, nowIlook like the aggressor. “Easy fellas,” I put my hands up in surrender. “I wasn’t doing anything to her. She was going through Dom’s stuff. I told her to stop and she wouldn’t, so I was going to take her out of the room.”

It gets even better when Dom steps into the room with us. “What’s going on here?”

“I was just looking for my cars keys and this asshole put his hands on me,” Lara jerks her thumb my way.

Dom steps past me, right up to Lara, “Why were you looking for your keys?”

“Because I don’t want to spend another second nearhim,” she points at me. “He called me a bitch and you all let him get away with it, he called my brother names and you all let him get away with that too. I want to leave NOW! I want to go home!”

“Nobody’s getting away with anything and you’re not leaving here. For the next three months, thisishome.”

I see Lara’s face getting red and it looks like she’s welling up. She stomps her foot, “Dom, this is kidnapping! You can’t force me to stay here! Not when I don’t want to!”

“You’ll do as you’re told!” Dom raises his voice when he points at her. It’s something he very seldom does. “You should consider yourself lucky that you’re evengettinga punishment after what you did!”

“You want your fucking money?” She pushes him and he barely moves an inch. “You can have your goddamn money. Just give me my phone back and I’ll transfer it into your account!”

Dom says nothing. He stares at her with disappointment.

“How much will it cost? A thousand dollars? Two? Tell me how much fucking money it will take to fix his damn bike and get me the fuck out of here.”

Dom still doesn’t say anything.

Lara hits him in the chest with a balled fist, “TELL ME!”

Chapter Five

Dominic

It’s been years…and she has no idea what’s going on. I’m not doing this to hurt her. It’s not even to punish her. It’s to make her understand.

You don’t get a free ride in life. Everything costs something.

Her cushy existence was paid for in blood.

Her brother’s.

I’m not taking anything away from her own accomplishments. I’m sure medical school is tough as hell, but she didn’t have to pay for a thing.

We gave her the opportunity and I’m proud that she’s doing something with it. But…

Lara doesn’t know what it’s like to work for a living. Lara’s never worked a day in her life or had to worry about where her next meal was coming from.

She thinks this club is a piece of shit. She thinks her brother should’ve never joined us.

I don’t know about all that…what I do know is that she needs to respect the institution that gave her everything she has. All I’m doing is trying to make her see that.

I want her to go from acting like a spoiled brat…to being grateful. If you don’t respect whatmadeyou…you won’t go far in life.

She doesn’t understand what this MC is. If she did, she’d never have burned Chase’s bike.

It’s not just a bike. I could give a fuck about the bike. It’s about what the bike represents. It’s about our way of life. It’s about who we are and what we do…and she’s shitting all over it without a care in the world.

Luke wouldn’t want that.

Idon’t want that.

I won’t stand for it.
