Our parents died in a car crash eight years ago. I was fifteen, Luke was twenty. He became my guardian.

We burnt through the insurance money pretty quickly, and by the time Luke was twenty-four he’d gone from being aprospectwith theTwisted Reapersto being afull-patch.

At eighteen, I went off to medical school. Luke told me never to ask how he was paying for it. Two years later he was dead. I didn’t even get to see his body.

It was a closed casket—An accident, they said.

There’s still money in accounts for me…and it’s still coming. I guess life insurance or something, but I’ve never met with a lawyer and I don’t know who he is. I guess Luke forget to cross some t’s or dot some i’s.

Bret is right. Whatever else my brother might have been, whether he liked this life or not, he tried to give me a better one.

I think I croak out the word, “Yeah,” before I hug Bret and wet his kutte a little with my tears.

The smell of it makes me pull away and I laugh through my tears, “Don’t you guys ever wash these things?”

“Not really,” he scrunches up his face and laughs. “Come on,” he takes my hand again and leads me back. “This is a happy day. Let’s not spoil it.”

“You’re right.”

We get back to the bar, sit on our stools and I wipe my eyes.

“What’s wrong,” genuine concern on Cassidy’s face.

“I was just thinking about Luke. It’s alright, I’m over it. Let’s drink!”

“Amen,” Carla says and lines up another five tequilas for our group.

We all cheer and down our shots…and that’s when I notice the grumpy asshole sitting all the way across on the other side of the bar counter, glaring at us like we stole from him and he can’t prove it yet.

Chase Hennig.

He’s a hulking asshole who probably has more muscles than common sense.

Luke hated him when he was coming up in the club. Becoming a full-patch member isn’t easy. First, they make you a ‘prospect’ and you have do whatever they tell you.

You have to run errands, do random, menial tasks and other degrading shit…and this lasts months.

If you don’t get kicked out for not performing well, you’ll get nominated by a patch member, then everyone has to take a vote.

It’s not a majority vote either.Everyonehas to agree for you to get your patch.

Chase made Luke’s life a living hell when he was a prospect. He did get Chase’s vote in the end, but they’ve never been friends.

Not to my knowledge at least.

But…fuck him.

I’m here to enjoy my time with my friends…and hopefully get laid.I put my hand on Bret’s thigh and give him a wink.

Chapter Two

Bret

Lara looks amazing…and I’m seeing her in a way I never have before. Well, I wouldn’t saynever.

I mean, I always thought she was beautiful and I’m only five years older than her, so it’s not that I didn’t notice when we were growing up.

She is one saucy, curvy brunette. Chocolatey eyes, a smile that’ll give you a chubby ten miles out. Skin you want to eat breakfast off of, and tits you can use as the wallpaper for your laptop.
