A few moments later, a hint of concern and confusion crossed her face, and with a furrowed brow, she looked up directly at us and delivered the surprising news: "I think you're having twins—I hear two heartbeats."

With a move of the device over my stomach, suddenly the sounds of two heart beat filled our ears and our heart.

The look on Adrian's face was priceless. His grin spread from ear to ear and his eye brows arched.

I didn't know if I should cry or laugh and a feeling of worry settled in my stomach. But Adrian assured me that it was going to be just fine.

We didn't expect to have twins. It was a heartwarming and nerve wracking experience.

I’m going to need all the help I can get, since the twins are coming in one short month. We decided against knowing the gender of our babies.

Although we picked two boys names and two girls names, we welcome any combination.

“….the pictures aren’t very good. You’d think with the effort they go to in order to get their information, they’d at least manage to get a few decent pictures.”

I blink and give a slight shake of my head. “I think they were a little more focused on sneaking the pictures in.”

Savannah tosses the magazine next to her and crosses one ankle over the other. “How did they get in anyway? Didn’t you have really tight security at the wedding?”

“My guess? Catering staff.”

Savannah sighs. “They really are obsessed with Adrian.”

I drape an arm over my stomach. “And the unborn babies.”

Savannah twists to face me, but I can’t make out her expression from behind her sunglasses. “You’re going to be a mom soon.”

“I still have one month to go, which is a good thing. Gives Adrian and I more time to get things ready.”

“I thought the cabin was ready?”

I smile and shrug. “It is, but you know how Adrian is. He’s a perfectionist, so he’s still trying to get it just right. And it's twice as much work as if it was only one baby.”

Savannah leans sideways and fishes her phone out of her purse. “I still can’t believe you get to live out here. Doesn’t it feel weird not to live in the city anymore?”

I study the pool in front of me, where Brian is currently doing laps on his back and soaking up the afternoon sun. “A little, but I think that’ll go away. I love it here, and I think it’s a great place to raise our babies.”

“What about—”

My hand darts out, and I grab Savannah’s arm a little too forcefully. “I’m sorry. I’ve been having these Braxton-Hicks contractions all day.”

Savannah covers my hand with hers. “Do you want me to take you to the hospital?”

I shake my hand as another wave of pain shoots through my stomach. “No, it should be fine.”

Savannah swings her legs over the side and places her glasses over her head. “Maybe I should take you back to the cabin. You could lie down, and we can watch a movie or something.”

“No, really, I—” I stop mid-sentence and lower my head. Another sharp wave of pain hits me, making me clutch my stomach with both hands.

When I glance up, Brian is standing in front of me, dripping water all over our lounge chairs. I still can't tell which one is which. They even sound alike.

Their only difference is their clothes. I know what Adrian wears every day.

Brian shakes his head, sending droplets of water in every direction. Then he crouches in front of me, his eyes wide and unflinching.

“What’s happening?”

I let out a low moan.
