“I disagree.” It’d be winning and he was all for that.

“That’s why we’re changing the rules.”

“Are we?”

“If you want me to play, yes we are.”

“I definitely want to play with you.” He’d already planned their night at La Petite Mort Club. All he had to do was talk to Ethan tomorrow and make sure the man was agreeable.

“Then we change the rules.”

“To what?”

“I’ll install the program on your computer. You’ll make up a list of things that you think I’ll say. We each get ten on our list and we remove one once it’s picked.”

“Do we get to add new ones?”

Her nose wrinkled as she thought it through. “Yeah, I think that’s fine. Each list will always be ten phrases.”

“Deal.” He could still win this. “I’ll put my Alison-Ramble—”

“Hey, it’s not nice to make fun of me.” Her eyes twinkled with amusement.

He ignored her. “On the same file share. We can each see the date and time stamp, so we know no one cheated and we’ll password protect the file so the other one can’t get in it.”

“Perfect. If you say the phrase that I pick before I say your phrase, I win. And vice versa.”

“What if neither of us says it?” he asked.

“Hmm. We’ll extend the time from when we start work until we fall asleep. If neither of us say it by then it’s a draw and no one gets a point.”

“I think we add to the list then.”

“What do you mean?”

“For example, if tomorrow I pick that you’ll say, I can’t wait to suck Harker’s dick and then—”

“Please pick that one because I won’t be saying that…ever.”

“As I was saying, if neither of us say the phrase then we run the program again after adding a new phrase like, Harker has the biggest dick I’ve ever sucked.”

“Again, please pick that one.” She laughed. “I know I’m not going to be saying that at work or at home. I’m going to win every week.”

“You might say it, because I know it’s true.” He grinned. “But the point is there will be two points up for grabs the next day.”

“Deal.” She smiled at him. “I’m really looking forward to playing.”

“I’m looking forward to winning.”

“In your dreams.”

“We’ll see.” He rolled over, pinning her beneath him. “I never lose, Alison. Never.”

“You’ve never played against me.”

“I’ve played with you and we both won. We’ll both win again when I claim my reward every week.”

“You are so cocky.”
