“But—”

“Trust me.”

I sigh. “Okay. But I feel useless.”

“You can order pizza for the crew.”

I glance around. A stream of men... and one pre-teen boy... are steadily flowing in and out of the house. Boxes are beginning to stack up in the corners.

Hunter curls me into his side and kisses my temple. “Babe, let us do the heavy lifting. Most of the boxes are unloaded. The furniture is next.”

“I guess you’re right.”

He swats my butt as I head off to find my phone. Maddy sweeps into the kitchen while I’m digging in my purse.

Her cute little bib overalls have splashes of bright blue paint on them. “Okay, the last touch ups are done in Marcus’s room.”

“You’re the best.”

“This place looks great.”

I smile as I look at the perfect yellow color of the kitchen. “I agree, it does.”

Christian Archer sticks his head in the door. He clears his throat. “Excuse me, ladies. Sorry to interrupt. Do you want the boxes labeled kitchen in here, or do you want them to stay in the dining room?”

Maddy’s got her mouth open when I glance over.

“Just leave them in there for now. Let’s leave the kitchen open until after lunch.”

He nods, says, “Yes, ma’am,” and ducks out the doorway.

I giggle when I see Maddy’s still frozen expression. “You’re drooling.”

She snaps her mouth shut. “God. I was, wasn’t I?”

“It’s okay. Maybe he thought it was paint.”

She eyes me, then bursts out laughing. “Wow, he looks good in work clothes.”

“Yeah, pretty nice having all these men around helping today.”

She wiggles her brows. “I’ll second that.”

“How did you talk them all into coming?”

“I bribed them with food from the café.”

I wrap my arm around her shoulders. “You’re brilliant. I don’t tell you that nearly enough.”

Bryce Archer, the second oldest brother, appears in the kitchen. He grins. “You two look like you’re up to something mischievous.”

I shrug. “Maybe.”

“Well, can I get a bottle of water? Your husband-to-be said this was the place to find one.”

“Only if you tell us about the bachelor auction date.”

He rolls his eyes. “Got a water hose outside? I’ll just hit that.”
