“We don’t have to miss out anymore, Caro. You and I can have the chance we lost back then.”
Heaven help her, she wanted that, but everything seemed so quick, so fast.
Maybe too fast?
Shifting to look at him, she found herself straddling his thigh, her breasts pressed hard against him. She’d meant to look him in the eye and now felt his erection hard against her hip. Lucas was certainly a man with the passion and stamina to change the direction of their conversation.
So Caroline struggled to say what she had to before his hands worked her into another frenzy with those ridiculously talented fingers.
“Lucas?”
“Caro?” He shot back with the slightest burr of an accent in his voice.
“I don’t know if I’m ready to do this. To be an us. Not this fast.” It was the truth falling from her lips, but she couldn’t be sure it would have the desired result. She wasn’t even sure what that would be. “I’ve been ‘just me’ forever.”
She couldn’t tell if the pounding rhythm she felt in her chest was her heart or his.
Either way it made her feel anxious and off-balance. Panic starting to take over.
“Caroline.” He took a hold of her chin with one hand, while the hand he had on her hip stayed there to hold her in place. “Look at me.”
She swallowed and lifted her gaze to his, focusing on his eyes.
“If you have questions or concerns, have them. If you want to take time, we’ll take it. I know what I want. Who I want.
“But I also know that I’m a package deal. Nadia is part of me, an essential part of my life, but you… you’ve always been in my heart.” He lowered his hand from her chin to the place where they pressed tight against each other. “I just need to know that you want to try. To work toward a life together.”
The touch of his fingers. The heat of his skin beneath hers. And yes, the rise and fall of his length against her hip was enough to lull her into compliance. Even better, she wanted it.
Wanted him.
Wanted them.
“Yes.” She dipped her mouth to his and pulled a sigh from his lips. “Yes, Lucas. I want us however I can have it.”
Lucas pushed himself up in a single movement and she found herself ground against his thigh.
A solid shift of his hands spread her across his legs and centered her body against his insistent erection.
Caroline wound her arms around his neck and leaned forward until her nipples brushed against him, tantalizing them both.
“What do you want, Caro? Tell me how to make you happy.”
“You,” her eyes lifted to meet his and she knew that he could see the hunger she had inside, “I need you all over again, Lucas. I want to feel your heat inside me.”
“And I need yours all around me, Caro. I want to live with you surrounding me and inside my heart.”
He used his hands and lifted her up only to set her down onto the head of his cock.
Her mouth dropped open as she felt gravity take over and it felt right. Gravity. An elemental force that pulled them together.
When he was seated fully inside of her, he wrapped an arm around her waist and dropped one of his legs to the floor.
The movement stretched her open just a little more and her head tipped back just enough to let a groan pull from her lips.
Lucas leaned forward and opened his lips against her neck, his tongue coaxing another decadent moan from her body. “I need this, Caro.” He tore his lips from her neck and dragged them along her jaw until she tipped her chin down to meet his kiss. When he’d swept through her mouth with his tongue he sat back and flexed his hips, raising her an inch or two before letting her sink down against him again. “I need you. And I’m going to make you see that what we have together is everything you could ever want.”
