My legs shook, and I thrusted my hips forward, desperate to feel more of his tongue. I was grinding my pussy against his face, and a warm heat grew in my belly. When he slid two fingers into me, thrusting them lightly, my pussy fluttered around them.

“Yes!” I cried out, arching my back off the mattress and rolling my hips with his movements. My release rushed through me and over Logan’s hand.

His lips glistened when he sat up from between my legs and crawled up the bed. Once he hovered over me, he kissed me, and I licked my arousal from his lips and cheeks with each kiss. Logan was intentional with his slow movements, lining himself up at my entrance, and I stretched around him, feeling every inch of him as he filled me.

I wrapped my legs around his waist, eager for him to move more quickly, but when he put his hand on my lower stomach and pressed down, he smiled. “Let me take my time, sweetheart. I need to feel this.”

The pressure of his hand on my stomach made his movements more intense, bringing more attention to my G-spot and causing my legs to tremble. “Feel what?” I whimpered. With the way he had looked at me, I knew he didn’t mean the way my pussy was squeezing him.

“You. Us.” He pulled out and thrusted back in between the words, pausing the statement with a low groan. “The way you are making every single part of me burn.”

I balanced on the edge of an incredible orgasm and desperation. I couldn’t need this man, but his eyes didn’t leave mine. I didn’t want this man, but my body ached for him even as it stretched and wrapped around him.

“Logan! Please!” I dug my nails into his shoulders until he hissed, the intensity in his eyes growing.

He pressed his forehead to mine. His breath was sweet and tickled my lips. I tilted my chin up, hoping to capture his mouth in a kiss, but he moved back just slightly. “Please what?”

“More, give me more. I need you!” I cried out, hovering on the edge of oblivion. I knew screaming that I needed him didn’t just mean I needed him to fuck me harder. I did. I needed him to fuck me hard enough to make me forget every hesitation I had about how much I needed him in every way.

“You’ve got me.” He grunted when he thrusted again, filling me with his release. His chest heaved, and he rested his forehead against mine while he caught his breath.

Alarm crossed his face when sudden tears filled my eyes and spilled over. I sobbed loudly, and he quickly rolled to my side and pulled me to him. “Simone, what? Why are you crying?”

I shuddered in his grasp, taking comfort in the warmth radiating off his skin. I shook my head and closed my eyes, pressing my face into the crook of his neck and taking a deep breath. I didn’t want to tell him I was still thinking about moving back home, or that I was pretty sure I was going to ruin his life. My breath caught in my throat.

The heavy feeling of sleep covered me like a warm blanket, and I breathed quietly against Logan’s skin. He ran circles around my back with his hand, and I sighed. “I don’t know what to do.”

“You lay here with me, and then tomorrow, you tell everyone you’re not moving back to Detroit.”

Stay here. Be with me.

Chapter 33

Logan

Irubbed my eyes, rolling over in my bed and hoping Simone would be there. She wouldn’t. When I went to see her last night, I’d considered not leaving, and when I left, I considered bringing her with me. She wouldn’t have, so I didn’t ask her. Still, I wished she was lying next to me.

My phone flashed. Reaching for it, I was hopeful I would see Simone’s name on the screen. I groaned when I didn’t.

AUSTON: We’re cleaning the bar today. 10:00

I looked at the clock on the table. 9:00 a.m. It would be long enough for me to take a shower and wash a miniscule amount of the guilt off me before I went in. At the very least, it would wash my night with Simone off me, though I knew it wouldn’t rid my mind of the way her eyes had looked when she came.

When I had gotten home, it was late, but Auston was up. He was sitting on the couch with a bottle of gin in his hand. I half expected him to hold out the bottle to me, but when he didn’t even look at me when I opened the door, I knew it wasn’t going to happen.

I didn’t blame him for being mad. I was more concerned that the man was going to come back or Simone was going to disappear in the middle of the night with nothing more than a note. I couldn’t let her go, even if it meant dealing with the angry wrath of my best friend. I could take the silent treatment from Auston because I knew he wouldn’t be able to keep it up forever. We were family.

Groaning, I pulled myself out of bed. Auston wasn’t in the living room or the kitchen, and when I looked out the window, his car wasn’t out front either. He was already gone. Realizing my long shower was going to have to be a quick in-and-out, I braced myself for today to be nearly the worst-case scenario.

When I walked into the bar, I lost my breath. Simone was holding the broom, sweeping a pile of broken glass into a dustpan. Her roommate was scrubbing the countertop on the bar, spreading the red bubbles vigorously around the surface.

“What are you doing here?” I asked Simone.

The dustpan full of broken glass made a clinking sound when she dumped it into the lined trash can. “I’m cleaning the mess.” She looked shy, biting her lip and shrugging. The guilt she felt was apparent in the red stains on her cheeks.

I looked at my phone, double checking the text message from Auston before I looked at the time. It wasn’t ten yet, and I was early, but judging by the piles of glass spread around the bar, Simone and Emmy had been here for a while.

“How did you…?”
