“How did Devlyn know we’d be here?” Priest asked. “I mean, didn’t Pyro and Frank take everyone to their house? I saw Devlyn go with them.”

“Um, that would be because of me, Priest,” Enigma grumbled, walking around the corner, along with Freyja, who didn’t look remorseful in the least.

Scribe grumbled. “Freyja. Just what in the hell are you doing here?”

“Supporting my new sister. I told you the universe was shouting. Now do you believe me?”

Scribe groaned as I covered my mouth, hiding my smile as the siblings stood toe to toe with each other.

I knew that groan.

Used it many times with my own sister.

It was a groan of frustration and annoyance.

“If you don’t stop with that shit...”

“You’ll what?” Freyja challenged, refusing to budge an inch.

Scribe stumbled over his words, sputtering nonsense before he smirked, reaching for his cellphone. “I’ll call mom.”

“You wouldn’t dare!”

Grinning evilly, he simply replied, “Watch me.”

And just for added effect, he hit the call button on his phone right in front of his sister’s face as he stuck his tongue out at her like some five-year-old little boy. “Hi, Mom!”

“Give me that phone!” Freyja hissed angrily, as she tried to get Scribe’s phone away from him.

A bell dinged and King cursed, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“What?” Bailey huffed, marching in as if she owned the damn place.

“Woman, what in the hell are you doing here?” King asked just as Pyro rushed in, gasping for air.

“She’s evil,” he panted, holding his side as he glared at his older brother and pointing at Bailey. “That woman is a menace. Hell can’t even contain her.”

King rolled his eyes as Bailey smirked. “Wussy boy.”

“Cupcake. Why are you here?”

“Where else would I be?”

Walking over to the counter to stand near Linda, I watched in merriment as Scribe, Freyja, King and Bailey all stood toe to toe with each other.

It was fantastic.

I loved that no matter what was going on in their lives, the Sons of Hell MC still held true to those they loved. That nothing was more important than those they cared the most about.

They truly were a genuine family.

For a while now, it had been just me and Devlyn. We managed, but since our parents’ death, it felt as if we started drifting apart. I guess that was to be expected. We both lived different lives. I knew no matter what happened in my life, Devlyn would be there for me, that was a given. But I couldn’t help feeling as if our relationship had changed somehow. We were close once. Really close. Like two peas in a pod. Now, with me on the mountain and Dev living in town, I rarely saw her or spent time with her unless she was sick or needed me to do something. This last week or so was the most I’d seen of her in months.

It was refreshing.

“You sure about him, Sis? Because the whole lot is nuttier than a fruitcake, and don’t even get me started on Scribe. He never takes anything seriously, and his sisters are weird.”

Whipping around, my sister stood shaking her head at the unfolding drama. Without thinking, I hugged her to me. I don’t know why I did it, but it felt right. We were all we had left in this world, and I didn’t want to do anything without her.
