“My dad had bad days too. Momma was good at helping him. Did you have a bad day like my dad?”

“Yeah, I did, buddy.”

“And Henley helped you, didn’t she?”

“Yes, she did.”

“That’s cool,” he muttered, then said, “You know, I’ve been thinking.”

“About what?”

“Henley being your T.F.B.”

“And what did you decide?”

“She’s cool, I guess. She’s got a pet rat, which is awesome, and she didn’t get mad when I took more than one cookie.”

“Those are some good points.”

“But how do you know she’s a real T.F.B.?”

“Because when I’m with her, she makes everything better.”

I watched as Cameron pondered my words.

My woman was right. The kid was inquisitive. His mind was always working, trying to figure things out and he wasn’t shy when asking about things he didn’t know the answer to.

“Come on, little dude. I think we’re done here for the day. Let’s go see what everyone else is doing.”

The clubhouse was quiet when we entered as Cameron quickly scurried off.

No doubt looking for more trouble.

Heading towards the stairs, I stopped when I heard King. “Scribe. Office.”

Hanging my head, I turned around to find out what in the hell he wanted now.

“You bellowed, my liege,” I said grimly, bending at the waist.

“Asshole.”

Smirking, I plopped down on the sofa and stretched out. This was a good couch. Not a monster couch like the one Bails had in her apartment, but good enough for a quick nap.

“How are you feeling?”

“Like a million bucks.”

“Scribe?”

Groaning, I sat up and said, “Fine. I feel like shit. I always do after I lose my shit. I still don’t know what to say to Bailey, and everyone is walking on eggshells around me, except for Henley and Cameron. I hate it. I just want everything to go back to normal.”

“It will. You just need to give it time,” my friend said, leaning back in his chair and looking at me. “Have you decided when you are going to call those other women?”

Shit.

I forgot about them.

“Of course, if they haven’t contacted you by now, I’m pretty sure you’re in the clear.”
