“Yep, way past my bedtime.”

“Scribe,” King growled, his eyes focused on the computer screen in front of him. “We’re trying to find out who threatened your woman. You can’t just fuck off to fuck.”

Backing away towards the door, I smiled. “Got all the faith in you, brother. I know you won’t let me down.”

Not waiting for a reply, I hightailed it out of King’s office only to run smack-dab into a gigantic wall.

“Hi, Scribe. Where ya going?”

Shit.

“Gotta run, Frank. Can’t talk.”

The big man frowned. “I understand. You don’t want to spend time with me. I get it.”

Sighing, I looked up at the loveable teddy bear and groaned. Frankenstein, or Frank as we all called him, was the biggest brother in the club. He was also socially awkward and smarter than all of us combined. His mind was a veritable encyclopedia, which didn’t help him with the subtilties of life.

“Frankie, buddy. You know I love ya and any other time, I would love to spend time with ya, but right now, I’ve got a smokin’ hot woman waiting for me. You understand, don’t ya, right?”

The big man nodded.

Quirking my head, I narrowed my eyes. “Do you really?”

His big shoulders slumped as he shook his head.

“Don’t worry, big man. One day, you will meet the perfect woman for you and I will be right beside you to help you navigate everything.”

“You really mean that?”

“Yep.” I grinned. “Now, until you meet her, I have my own woman who is requesting my attention.”

“I like Henley. She talks to me.”

“Glad to hear it, brother. Talk to her anytime you want, but not right now cause I gotta go!” I said, slapping the big man on his shoulder, before skedaddling towards the front door only to hear Gunner shout my name.

“Scribe!”

FUCK!

Turning towards the club’s VP, I huffed as he walked over carrying a pink bundle in his arms. “Hey, man. Come look at my beautiful daughter.”

Quickly looking at the sleeping infant, I muttered, “Cute. Now, if that was all, I have to be somewhere.”

“Isn’t she stunning?”

“Yep, a ray of fucking sunshine.”

“Do you want to hold her?”

“Uh...,” I muttered, looking around the common room, spotting Enigma behind the bar. Any other time, I would love to hold the baby, but not right now. Right now, my woman was waiting for me.

“Oh look! Enigma is dying to hold her.”

“What?!” My brother paled, shaking his head. “No. I don’t do babies.”

“Oh, come on, Enigma. She’s cute. Who knows, she may end up being your future bride.”

“WHAT THE FUCK!” Gunner stepped back, turning his infant daughter away from our brother behind the bar, narrowing his eyes, glaring. “You stay the hell away from my baby girl, Enigma.”
