My heart turns over in my chest. But not in a good way.

My hand flies up to cover my mouth. "Oh no."

They both take a step forward, their eyes on my face. They look concerned. But I know it’s not for me. It’s for Michael.

"He's okay,” Nathan says. “For right now, anyway. He's at the hospital, stable. Michael got the call during the game. He's on my jet, and he's already on his way to Decatur."

“Oh, good.” My throat is tight.

I just stare at my guys. They both look so worried.

And in that moment, I realize that nothing else matters. Everything from the last few days just disappears.

Nathan doesn't care about competing with Michael for anything.

Crew isn't worried about his own personal feelings about the future.

Right now we are all aware that the man we want to make a life with, the fourth part of our foursome, the guy we all depend on and love, needs us.

I nod. "I'll go get my stuff."

"Our bags are already in the car. I’ve chartered another jet."

Of course he did. That's what Nathan does. He pays to fix things. And this time it’s absolutely perfect.

"I'll help you pack," Crew says, his voice rough.

I take a moment to do the one thing that we need most. I cross the floor and pull them both into a hug.

The three of us embrace for the first time in days.

But it's not about making up or saying we’re sorry.

We don't need to do those things. We're okay. We’re all here because our family needs to be together right now.

No matter what we argued about, no matter whose feelings got hurt the other night, no matter what confusing thoughts we’re dealing with, we’re family.

We were all there for Crew tonight for his first game back, and we’ll be there for Michael. He doesn’t need us any more than Crew did, really. We couldn’t play hockey for Crew tonight, but we were in the stands supporting him. We can’t make Clayton be okay, and we can’t do anything for Michael that he can’t do for himself. But we can be there.

"Should I pack for a few days?" I ask, letting them go.

"Just something quick. We can buy whatever else we need."

I smile at that. My billionaire would very much love to buy us all things. That would make him feel useful.

I nod. "Okay."

I head up to the apartment. They're both right behind me and I pack quickly. Crew grabs my suitcase and then links his fingers with mine. As we go back downstairs, Nathan's right behind us, and then strides past us to open the door of the SUV.

"Evening Ms. Larkin," Andrew greets me.

"Hi, Andrew."

Nathan takes the passenger seat and Crew and I sit in the back, holding hands the whole time.

But none of us speak.

Even when we get on the jet and take off on our way to Decatur, we don't say much.
