“This way,” I say, lacing my fingers with hers before tugging her to a staircase hidden behind a black velvet curtain. “VIP section’s up here.”

She glances at the people still dancing, rolling her bottom lip into her mouth. “Are you sure this is a good idea? We’re barely outside of Seattle. There’s a chance that someone is going torecognize us. The last thing you need are a bunch of cameras in here.”

I turn to her and pull her closer to me. “Cassie, I don’t give a damn about the cameras. The only reason we’re going upstairs is to dance is because there’s more room and I don’t want the whole club watching the way you’re going to grind on me.”

Her cheeks turn a bright shade of red, even as she rolls her eyes. “You would love other people watching.”

I smirk and brush my lips against the shell of her ear. “Can you blame me? I would show you off every chance that I got if you let me.”

Though I don’t recognize the person I’m becoming — the man who would gladly show off one woman — I’m starting to like it. I don’t have to worry about someone getting too attached when I’m never going to call them back the next morning.

There is some worry that I’m going to wake up in the morning and Cassie is going to come to her senses. One day, she could see that I’m not good enough for her and we’ve both been fooling ourselves for far too long.

If I have anything to say about it, that day isn’t going to come.

This is the first time in a very long time that I’ve felt truly happy.

“And what if someone recognizes us?” she asks. “People are going to take pictures and sell them to the tabloids and then your image as a playboy is over.”

“That’s fine.” I squeeze her hand, lifting it to my mouth and kissing the back of it. “Cassie, stop worrying about everything and just have a good time tonight. We can worry about other things when they happen.”

She shakes her head and looks to the ceiling. Her shoulders slump slightly before she nods and puts on a smile. I grin as I lead her the rest of the way up the stairs.

Leather booths line the dance floor in the center of the VIP area. I weave through the crowd, pulling Cassie behind me. Her nails scrape against my skin as she lets go of my hand.

“I thought we were going to dance,” she says with a teasing smile. “You’re heading to one of the booths.”

I raise an eyebrow as she backs toward the dance floor. Her hips sway as her hands run down her body. The dark makeup makes her green eyes pop. As she runs her hands along her curves, lifting up her wavy hair and letting it fall back down, my cock stiffens.

“Oh, so you do want to dance.”

I grab her hand and spin her around. She rolls her hips against me as her back presses against my chest. I wrap one arm around her waist, moving with her. Cassie tilts her head back against my shoulder.

As I kiss her temple, she runs her hand down my arm. Her fingers link with mine and she twirls out of my embrace. She keeps distance between us as she rolls her body, her eyes closed. Her hands run along her body, dragging my eyes from her legs to her hips to her breasts and back down again.

I advance on her and pull her back to me. Her chest presses against mine, her nipples straining against the black fabric. I groan and dip my head down, capturing her lips with mine. She smiles into the kiss as her hands slide up my chest.

Our tongues tangle as our bodies sway. My cock strains against my jeans as I pull her impossibly closer. Cassie leans back out of the kiss, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Her gaze burns with heat and her lips are swollen as she looks up at me.

“Someone is definitely going to take a picture of us if we keep making out in the middle of a club,” she says, her voice breathless.

She runs her fingers through my hair, her body still moving. I close my eyes, focusing on the feeling of her body against mine. When I open my eyes, she’s still staring up at me.

I lean down, pressing my forehead against hers. “People can take as many pictures as they want. They can post them wherever they like.”

She bites her bottom lip. “I don’t know how you can be so calm about that. I know it’s what you’re used to, but do you really want it splashed everywhere?”

Is she ashamed of me? Does she not want people to know that we’re together? She’s been more than happy to keep this thing between us a secret. I know I was the one that suggested it, but maybe I shouldn’t have.”

My chest tightens and I hold her a little closer. “I don’t give a damn what anyone else thinks. I just want to spend time with you.”

She leans into me, the tension in her body dissolving. I smile and run my hands down her body, and she gasps as I grip her ass and pull her harder against me. A smile curves the corners of her mouth as I wrap one arm around her waist and dip her low.

As I pull her back up to me, I kiss the skin between the valley of her breasts. The low cut of her dress is seconds away from falling open as I ghost kisses over her collarbones.

Her chest rises and falls rapidly as I make my way back to her mouth. She digs her nails into my shoulders as I graze her jawline with my teeth, and I nip at her bottom lip before kissing her.

Cassie moans softly as my tongue slides along hers. Heat radiates between us as she undoes the top button of my shirt. I groan into the kiss, my cock pressing into her torso. She brushes against it, smiling as she teases me.
