A soft hand grabbed my own and swiped her thumb over it. I opened my eyes slightly and turned to Izzy.
"I'm really happy for you," she told me with a soft smile. "About Alexander."
"I'm really happy too. And I know you'll meet the right guy some day and he's going to love you exactly as you are."
"I love you."
"Love you too."
"Tell Alexander I said thank you by the way. This was such a nice thing for him to do for us. Honestly, it's been like the best day ever."
I hummed. "It's been perfect. I just wish I knew how to repay him."
We relaxed back into our seats. Before I could close my eyes again, an idea popped into my head. A way to thank Alexander for what he'd done today. "Do you think they have lingerie here?"
Izzy snorted. "This place has everything here. Wait. Did you just say lingerie?" She sat up in a rush. "What are you planning?"
A grin tugged at my lips. "Just a little surprise. Nothing much."
"Does it have anything to do with you repaying Alexander?"
"Maybe, maybe not." I slipped off the heels I was wearing. "Come on. I want to check out exactly what lingerie they have."

It was past eight when Philip dropped Izzy at her apartment. She hugged me goodnight and whispered "knock him dead" in my ear. Philip helped carry her various shopping bags to her apartment before we left.
I had a different destination in mind. Alexander's apartment. We drove there silently, and I stared out the window as went. Fear and excitement filled my chest.
A while later, Philip parked the car. We had arrived. The building was a huge stone skyscraper. The neighborhood was peaceful and scarce of many people or buildings. There was a gorgeous rock staircase leading up to the entrance.
Philip opened the car for me, and I stepped out. The late evening breeze had me pulling my trench coat tighter together. The last thing I needed was for it to blow wide open. At least not without the targeted audience.
The reception area was white, with bright lights and expensive-looking furniture. It was empty except for the doorman and the receptionist, something that I was grateful for.
They both looked confused to see me at first, but then relaxed when they saw Philip. They must have known him as Alexander's driver and therefore didn't question who I was because I was with him.
I felt a bit nervous for Alexander to see me in the trench coat; I couldn't imagine more people seeing me.
Philip led me to the elevator. I got in and pushed the top button. "The penthouse." I nodded at him with a quiet thank you. "It was my pleasure. Good night, Miss Sophia."
"Good night, Philip," I replied just as the door closed. I leaned against the wall of the elevator as it traveled upwards, bringing me closer to Alexander.
I reached into the pocket of the coat and layered blood red lipstick on my lips. Then, I took a deep breath. Tonight was going to be one to remember. I would make sure of it.
Once the doors opened, I stepped out of the elevator, walked through the small hallway, and then knocked on the large double doors. After a while, it opened.
Alexander stood inside. He was dressed in grey sweatpants and a black muscle shirt. He smiled once he saw me.
"Hey, how was your..." His words died in his throat and his jaw fell open he took in my attire. A deep red trench coat and thigh high red boots.
I stepped into his apartment and shut the door. I pressed him to the wall of his apartment and kissed him. My entire body shuddered when my lips touched his.
A soft gasp rose from the back of my throat as his thumb brushed the side of my neck. He deepened the kiss, roughly opening my mouth with his and slipping his tongue inside. I melted against him and pushed my fingers deep into his hair.
Alexander's hands moved down from my neck and ran over my body. I could feel the heat of his hands through the heavy material of the trench coat.
I felt hot everywhere. My body was on fire, and I loved every second of it. It had only been a day since we'd last touched each other, yet it felt like an eternity. I ached for more of him.
