Allison used the timeto straighten her clothes, giving up when she realized he’dpopped the clasp of her bra. Sitting up, she scooted to the edge ofthe door and watched him pacing, the phone at his ear.

In a few minutes, hewas back, his face set in a hard and uncompromising line that had herheart sinking. "The mechanic has your car up and running and ison his way here."

His cold eyes staredat her, taking in the tangled hair and the obvious signs of whatthey’d just done in the backseat of his car of all places. Hefelt the bitter recrimination burning through his body and had noidea what he was going to do about this situation.

"He’s verydiscreet and won’t say anything about this-" He gesturedwith one hand. "I apologize for my lack of control. I shouldn’thave-" He turned away as a pair of headlights swept thedriveway. “He’s here."

Allison wanted to saysomething to him. She wanted to suggest they go inside and finishwhat they started, but his face was so tight and distant, that shedidn’t dare utter a word. He’d retreated into his usualshell and there was no touching him.

She watched as heexchanged a brief conversation with the guy before moving toward her."Goodnight, Ms., Simpson." With a formal nod, he turnedaway to lock his car while she walked towards her vehicle and themechanic standing there.

"Thanks."She managed a smile. "How much do I-"

"The boss tookcare of it." The man told her cheerfully. "Drive safe."

He couldn’t goanywhere. Making the call to cancel, he refused to feel guilty at thedistinct disappointment in Miriam's voice. He couldn’t dealwith that now. He’d come inside and gone straight into hisbedroom to take a shower in the ensuite bathroom. He was going towash her scent and feel of her off him, if possible.

Touching the button,he activated the jet spray and stepped beneath the warm water, closing his eyes as it beat down on him. Now he had time to think andhe felt the despair ripping through his body. He’d taken her, ravished her was a better way of putting it, in the back seat of hiscar like a randy teenager.

He’d done sowithout using protection. There could be consequences. Was heprepared to deal with it? What the hell happened? He couldn’tstop himself.

The enormous needinside him had seen to it that he couldn’t stop. It’dfelt like he was about to go crazy if he didn’t have her.Slapping a hand on the tile, he leaned his head against it and closedhis eyes as memories erupted inside him. If, by some miracle, therewere no consequences to his actions, he was going to stay away fromher.

Fortunately, theoffice was on a break for Christmas and he had a lot of things tooccupy himself and take his mind off her. He was going to use thetime to gather his thoughts and examine this addiction he had withher. He was going to try his best to forget the taste of her and theincredible feel of her wrapped around his cock. It had to end now.

Half an hour later,Allison let herself into her apartment. Hanging her coat carefully onthe coat tree, she sat on the sofa closest to the door and took offher boots. She headed toward the kitchen and went to get the bottleof wine she opened last night. Getting a glass from the cupboard, shepoured a generous amount and sat there at the counter, cradling theglass.

She’d refusedto think on her way home, and had blasted her music until it drownedout everything in her mind. Now, surrounded by the silence of herempty apartment, she couldn’t help but remember and reflect.

She was stilldressed. Her underwear was still soaked with their combined climaxes. She could still feel his mouth on her nipples. She held him in herarms and felt the quickened heartbeat.

She was one hundredpercent positive that she was in love with him. He’dapologized, not even looking at her as he turned away as ifdismissing her. That's what he’d done, he’d dismissedwhat they’d shared. She blinked the tears away, determined notto get depressed about this.

After her father andbrother had perished in that fateful accident, she’d gone frombeing happy and carefree to grief-stricken. Without the chance togrieve, she’d had to take care of her mother who’d sunkinto deep depression and then retreated into herself. Then came thebreak up and betrayal by a man who was supposed to be there for her.

She was barelygetting back on her feet, and now this. She’d fallen for a manwho was going to fight her tooth and nail. She’d seen the lookon his face, the uncompromising set of those same lips that haddriven her to complete madness.

She knew he was goingto ignore her and try to stay away from her. She wasn’t goingto allow him to do that.

There was somethingthere and she wasn’t going to let it go. Neither was she goingto share him with that artist and the blonde. "Oh, God!”She whispered. What the hell was she going to do?

“I apologizeagain for not being here last night.” He said quietly as hehanded her the oblong-shaped box. "I just got caught up."He didn’t bother adding that he didn’t sleep until theearly hours of the morning.

"It must befreezing out." Miriam pasted a smile on her lips as she usheredhim into the foyer and took his coat. She’d waited for him lastnight with anticipation and had prepared some refreshments, cheeseand crackers, and the wine he favors.

When he called andtold her he wasn’t going to make it, she’d sat andfinished the bottle of wine before going to bed. The box meant he washanding her a peace offering. "How about a drink?"

"Scotch."He preceded her into the cozy living room where the electronic firewas blazing in the hearth. “I’m on my way to the oldman's place to have dinner."

"Oh." He’dnever invited her to go with him and she never asked. "Are youup for it?" She asked, handing him the glass.

"Thanks."Taking the glass from her, he propped a foot on the table, a frowncrossing his brow.
